    Did you ever try the original nothing ear(1)? I quite liked the sound of that, but only with wavelet autoeq (I *really* didn't enjoy the stock tuning as you pointed out) About on par with galaxy buds 2 (non pro), but quite a bit worse than the moondrop space travel I bought after watching your video on them ^^

    soundcore had a single decent set. the p2i. Good, clean bass boost. Otherwise all of their stuff has the same extreme bass and treble boost. It's so jarring and the EQ function is horrible and distort super easily.

    cheap pairs perfect with the preset eq's on the 5k..sennheiser 580 silver screen, hd58x, hd58x oval pads, hd660s/660s dekoni, 6xx, hd8xx all go well with these for genre specific signature/response. Or you can swap to pioneer HDJ can tunes or Sennheiser HD25 options. Overall i like those profiles for the kph30i and kph40. It all really depends on the mix or amount of space/bass ratio i want in my session. On the go ill run just the 5k at home i have a modi and cavalli hybrid tube which was bought as it was on its last supply/sale. Swapped to a more balanced/staging tube from the stock one...and my budget endgame is set in stone.

    There's a surplus of them on the used market going for much cheaper than MSRP. I do admit that I didn't do my due diligence in explaining that I did buy these used. yea for a brand new one you're looking at 90-100 bucks depending on sales. You're not the first to bring this up and in future videos I will be more accurate when it comes to pricing. I'll also be changing the title of the video to be more transparent.

    I've got a number of DAPs - from the really cheap to a few hundred pounds. I managed to pick up the Surfans F28 recently for a steal and I'm really impressed. The biggest selling point is that the gapless playback actually works (a rarity in budget DAPs). Highly recommended.

  • @TenshinSound
    @TenshinSoundАй бұрын

    Ah yea. I'm in the United States where these are in plentiful supply. A new one of these definitely costs more than that. But in the U.S. there's so many of them on the used market for cheap. I need to do a better job of telling people what country I'm at as well as where I bought it from.

  • @triadwarfare
    @triadwarfareАй бұрын

    @@TenshinSound it's about around $113 new if converted to my local currency (PHP) to USD. I was hoping for probably another affordable audiophile quality headset, but didn't want to break the bank, as $50 is pretty much a lot of money in our country because of uneven exchange rates. I'd really love to import one but shipping from the US to here would probably eclipse the price of the headset.

  • @TenshinSound
    @TenshinSoundАй бұрын

    @@triadwarfare ah yea that does complicate things and make the headphone more expensive. Because I'm in the U.S. my perspective is going to be more useful to people in North America and Europe. Though, if you are looking into a cheap gaming headset, I would see if any vendors in your area sell Koss headphones (KSC75 and KPH30i are great value headphones) And if you're in Asia, Moondrop makes some affordable IEMs and their shipping should be much cheaper.

    it's $99 msrp in US too, just sales happen from time to time, that said there are much better stuff for $80-100, FiiO JT1(open back but so much insulation materials inside it's like a closed back rly), Status Audio CB-1, Drop X Hifiman HE-R7DX and HarmonicDyne Black Hole(closed back but with huge bass ports so it leaks more than FiiO JT1 which is technically open back)

Using your phone ( if you have a headphone jack on your phone), you will feel like something is always missing, BUT with an amplifier, amplifier dac, they will open up and you might think "Ohhhhhh i see" dongle dac will help for sure but if you're hooked with the audio bug you will start investigating and as long as go into the hobby with your means I'll just say" Welcome brothers and sisters the waters fine." My IEM as well, if you're buying a new one, yep maybe try to get a new model but if you already own it you are really not missing a lot vs the new ones at the same price point hold on to it for at least 3 years (you really don't need to buy a new one unless it's already broke). But for me I would upgrade maybe after 3 to 4 years. 1 year (even 2 years) is just not practical it would just be a waste.

    The app should ask for your location but the reason it wasn't connecting is that you denied access.

  • @TenshinSound

    I had a feeling that was the reason. But still, there's no reason a companion app for earbuds needs my location data. I find that to be an invasion of my privacy and I'm continuing to use the buds without the app.

    There must be something wrong with the device you are plugging the M50 x headphones into because I think the M 50 x headphones have an excellent sound performance, perfect for editing or just very enjoyable listening.

  • @TenshinSound
    @TenshinSound3 ай бұрын

    I have to judge the headphone based on the performance of the unit in my possession. I possess several amps and there wasn't much difference between them. What I hear personally is in line with what the objective measurements show. There's a lot of midbass and I personally don't care for that sound signature. But hey, if you like your M50X that's great! More power to you dude.

    I mean even though the extension is .wav we just say "wave". Also throw that Kobuzz or whatever website URL in the description. For me most of my music purchases are from bandcamp now. Also DRM free in various uncompresses and compressed formats. I still have 10s of gigs music on my current drive not to mention older ones. I've been thinking of picking up an audio player one day but anything decent seems to be wildly expensive.
