Executioners are definitely a better mud tire as far as traction, they beat mudlites by a small margin in my experience but the biggest issue I’ve seen in this video is clearance. The first few holes you went through the tires weren’t touching, the axle was because of the rut. The rincon definitely has more power being bigger displacement but I think if it was fresh mud no ruts to follow, the executioners would outperform the mudlites all day every day in soft mud. Hard pack and trails are a different story though because the ex do bite still but are really rough, and I think the mudlites definitely grip a little better on hard packed and they ride smoother. Although your mudlites are mudlite 2, I’ve never ran those, always the original mudlites. How well do the 2’s perform compared to the original? I’ve seen the design of the new 2’s and honestly I think they look a bit more rugged and ridged so I feel like they should perform better and last longer but not sure due to never running 2’s

The industrial hard chrome is hydrogen embrittled. The outside layer(0.05" deep) is probably RC65 or better. We anneal it by induction before machining. the center is basically 1040 hot rolled.

To support stick out on the backside of chuck you want whats called a spider but really it's best to avoid doing that if possible due to whip, that tape really did nothing. Chuck it short, use a low rpm and center drill then feed more in and use a live center so the tail stock supports it. Kind of find a balance for the spans. For longer spans between chuck and tail stock you would want a center rest. Just have to watch the chrome don't get damaged. If you had center drilled the end of the eye before parting it off you would have been able to use the lathe to hold it aligned for tack welding, just cover the ways first. Induction hardened/chromed rod is is pretty hard on even carbide inserts until you get down into it so coolant and go slow is a good idea. I did hear your indicator crying with the lath spinning that fast, just turn it by hand or use very low speed lol It's a shame Enco was bought out by MSC, they had decent prices, MSC don't. Anyway just some tips to consider but you got it done so congrats ! Learn by doing.

The throttle response and CVT clutching takes full advantage of that 49HP. They feel much faster than what you’d expect. Haven’t ridden another CVT quad that’s as responsive and snappy as the Brute at low to mid range. It’s impressive and makes the quad very fun.

I bought that exhaust probably about 6 years ago, it was the only kit I could find for that truck the brand was (Heart Throb) and it came with glass packs and the exhaust bolted right up to the original exhaust manifolds. I rebuilt the engine at the beginning of 2023 and put shorty headers on it. I also had some used flowmaster mufflers off a 88 mustang so we had to redo the exhaust for the headers and the flow masters using the exhaust kit that was already on the truck, so I guess you’d say that it’s a custom exhaust.

Why not paint the top of the bed rails? I'm always sliding things on top of the bed rails, so leaving it paint seems like it would be easy to scratch. The bedliner looks great by the way! I wonder if that gun could be re-used to spray some Fluid Film or other thicker material at a future date.

Needing to replace rear CV shafts on our 850D. Have the 5 bolt then the two bottom ones. When you pull the shaft out of the housing does the rear end drop any? Just looking at the plate the bottom two bolts looks as if its keeping the rear end from falling. Have not looked around anywhere else to see if its being held up by other bolts. Good informative video.
