  There is an element in music which pakistani artists tend to ignore. It is the entertainment factor. Although great musicians, they fail to respond to this. This qawwal singer sits here like a statue. Shows no feelings in his performance. Some shows only his lips move with an expression like he's smelt the arse of the devil. Now in contrast look at Nusrat Fateh, Rafaqat Ali, Aziz Mian , Bahadar qawwal. Master Saleem. Singing from the soul lifts the audience. Even when everybody here are dancing, this qawwal's got a face on like someone with a severe constipation. Another example. Shaukat Ali although he was the best punjabi singer, his stage was simple. For stage entertainment Gurdas Maan pulled thousands of folks in open grounds and even indoors. Shaukat used to sit with just one dholki player on the floor, with a plate of pan masala, a jar of mangoe chutney and a few puries. Look at Miss Pooja and pak female singers who perform as if at a funeral. Even jugni pak female singers do not perform to full capacity. To hit the international stage one cannot be reserved.
