  Thank you for letting me know! I made two versions of the shoe when creating it, one with elastic in the straps and one without. It seems that the thumbnail picture shows the version with elastic! I'll upload a video showing how to include elastic as well. Thanks for your feedback.

  Thank you for the reply. I like to stitch straight when patch working, so I've developed a habit of pinning a lot to ensure that. If I only pin in the middle, it tends to skew slightly when stitching at the square's end, and that's why I've gotten into the habit of doing it that way.

  I was watching your above video but was hoping to see how you finished your ends? It seems like the video abruptly ended. I was making the same straps but can not figure out how to finish the ends as they get to thick to sew through and I have a juki QVP.

  I am making my first pair, with your pattern I got on Etsy. It took a minute to figure out where the instructions were, no mention of it at all. That said, it's easy to see how they are sewn by looking at pictures of finished slippers. This is the exact pattern my mother used in the 60s, it made me so happy to see this classic revived.
