    Do you prefer HKS TI or Tomei TI?

  • @TunerTestDrive
    @TunerTestDrive17 күн бұрын

    I like them both for different reasons. I was never a fan of how the HKS Ti looked in the bumper but it always sounded great. The Tomei looks better to me in the bumper but I don’t think it sounds as good as the HKS. The Tomei is much lighter weight than the HKS since all the piping is titanium.

    If I put my timing at TDC and do this it will not stay at TDC right? The marking on the HB move from 0 to about 15 degrees clockwise of that. Is there anyway to move the crank and cams back to to TDC after using this?

  • @TunerTestDrive
    @TunerTestDrive26 күн бұрын

    Once the bolt is loose, you can still use the crank bolt to turn the crank to either check valve clearances or reset the timing.

    Everyone gets this wrong. Bottom mount is used to set droop at ride height. You should have 2/3 bump and 1/3 droop at your desired height. Then you fit the spring and use the spring mount to set ride height. There’s no real preload as the springs are linear. Otherwise how would you corner weight the car? All you’re doing in the video is moving the bottom arm up or down relative to the top mount.

    I'm late to the party, but a big THANKYOU for clearly explaining how to do this in layman's terms. I just purchased a car with a coil-over suspension and all this is new to me. I have to raise the car so I can drive over speed bumps and and have looked everywhere for a simple and easy explanation on how to do this. You did this! No fluff, fanfare, just straight to the point. Subscribed Thanks!

    For the love of god!!!!! The helper springs are there to help you to set up your ride height. This is just wrong! Your shock mounts are there to setup the total shock body length, so when you hit a huge bump your shocks bottom out first before your tires shooting through the roof.

    i have discovered a far easier way, if you have a strong tape such as flextape or 3m double sided tape, you should adhere the tape face very strongly to the original button and yank in one firm pull, it should pull out the button and not break the clips, then you can just insert the new one and make sure the two clips are locked in far easier than taking out the whole button unit

    Can I just clarify that the height gain or loss is purely determined by the shock being lowered or raised into the bottom mount thread and not to adjust the actual spring itself?
