A question, are they raised to milk or meat? If for milk, how dovyou manage to milk them without getting you killed?

I have to commend you for not throwing in the towel. I live in 🇨🇦 & I watch a KZread show called Cross Timbers Bison & his name is Dusty Baker & he has about 2-300 animals. He lives in Oklahoma, I don't know how far that is from you but I'm sure if you had any questions he would be happy to answer them. I'm not geographically inclined. Good luck on your endeavors

I am so sorry for the loss of Billy. I know it was very hard but illness and death are part of life. Losing an animal and having to help them out of this life is hard but having to hold your mother in your arms when she take her last breath is even harder. My mother smoked for 40 years then lung cancer took a hold of her. She lived 5 months and 22 days. I wish that was not my last memory of my mother but I don’t think anyone should die alone. Just DO NOT ever smoke and put your family through that. My 74 yr. Old sister-in-law was diagnosed with lung cancer on April 3rd with Stage 4 lung cancer. She had probably smoked for 50 years and had already had open heart surgery. We all sat with her and cried on April 21st, 2024 as she took her last breaths. It was HORRIBLE to witness an unnecessary death like that. I and my husband, her older brother, are both 76 and have never smoked. Death is just hard. It is difficult for me to believe that anyone could kill an unborn baby or murder someone for all of the reasons you hear about someone killing another person. But, an animal in terrible pain…that is a whole mother story. Sorry you had to experience that…but you really had no choice with Billy. You did good. You are young yet. Get ready for more of it.

Love your channel and I am surprisingly now very fond of bison, They are glorious things! I guess that I love that they are wild and no longer threatened with extinction. I see a parallel with South African friends who converted a large, failing cattle "ranch" where the cattle would succumb to things like leopards and tsetse fly, to a game farm to raise various wild animals for sale, specialising in raising rhinos for sale to National Parks where poaching was decimating the populations. Seeing you walking in a field next to a group of watchful "farmed" wild bison reminded me of approaching a water hole on foot to have a look at a new rhino calf after being warned to be very cautious quiet, careful, respectful of the grumpy, protective rhino mother who weighed 2,000 kg and was very fast, good hearing but poor eyesight so don't run, just be brave and stand still! Yeah right! Thankfully, after a display from hearing or smelling us, they chose to flee. A question, are bison territorial and content to stay where there is good food, water etc or do they prefer to roam, be nomadic and want to go, migrate with the seasons? Is it practical to have a bison herd on a larger open "conservation lifestyle, limited hunting" ranch range next to a National Park where elk and other wild animals roam? Cheers!

Notice the fat bloated bellies on these two. Probably, inflammation, colon is blocked from rotting meat ( humans, where not designed to digest meat, we have long intestines, meat rots, carnivores have short intestines & canines. Both will probably end up with colon cancer. Looking at them, they don't have a six pack, that have a fourty eight pack of beer belly.

Hello. I’m proud to say that I was raised on a bison farm in Kentucky. I have a million stories. I wanted to say thank you for keeping the dream alive. I’m sure you know, but for any one reader who doesn’t. Tail goes up before a charge. They can run up to 40 mph. A big stick can act as horns and if yours is bigger you have control. The can leap up to 7feet from stand still. They can flip a pickup like a toy. And males have been known to flip their calf over and over again after they are born. Separate the calf and its mom for a few weeks to prevent its death. Asian donkeys make great companions ( because they take no shit) and bison do get bored. Have cowboys on speedial. You may be responsible for damage caused by your animals. Good luck guys. Let me know if you ever need a farm hand. 😅
