These experiences are rubbish, cars like this Rev to 8000rpm and he’s got you changing up at 5000 at the most. I had a Ferrari experience years ago in a 360 Modena, they Rev to 8800 and they had fitted an adjustable Rev limit to lower it to 6500, complained as didn’t get to experience the power properly! I must say my instructor was a dick at Silverstone too, I drove to the circuit on a 370hp Fiat Coupe turbo, I had experience with fast cars but the poor Ferrari felt slow because they had imposed this much lower Rev limit. Better to just buy one and use it on track days, that’s what I eventually did after years of saving.

Can anybody explain to me why they get us shifting at 4500rpm? I.e tell you to accelerate to go past a car, but then saying up a gear up another gear as your overtaking.. where not actually getting into the power band… driving around at 60mph in 4/th, 80 in 50th.. why are they not letting us ever feel the full power?

He's a terrible instructor. Driving on track is extremely daunting and not an easy thing to do safely. He made things worse for the driver.
