Technically it's not correct. Im a geneticist, I do animals breeding for a living, mys specialy is morphs and genetic traits in reptiles I own the company Extremehogs. When you hybrid white bass with stripers in a lake that has naturally occuring white bass and access to breeding grounds youw ill in a short matter of time have mostly hybrids, that are fertile... hybrids come in ratios.. you can have a white bass that is genetically 95% white bass but still be hybrid and vice versa.. tooth patches mean nothing.. those stripes mean nothing, body shape and size means nothing as all traits can be enhanced, erased , modified etc.. this is simply a scam ran by fish and wildlife departments across the whole country.. only way to tell beyond a reasonable doubt... genetic testing or fish pure populations!!

I fish in the saltwater and the fish have teeth. They even ruin Z Man here in the Chesapeake Bay but they definitely last longer than regular soft plastics and Gulp. But Gulp gets more bites. I never used a drop shot, but I use something similar with a tandem jig rig. I use a regular bucktail jig or jig head and soft plastics at the end and another one on a dropper loop about a foot above it, or a bucktail teaser with a hook and a Gulp trailer. When the seaweed floating around isn't too bad I should try your first technique for my teaser and use my regular jig below. When it's weedy the open hook will get fouled a lot. I use the Texas Eye jig heads for the grass flats and around rocks, I just started using them and so far I like them. The hookup ratio is not as good but I don't get weeds on the hook or dnag rocks as much. I can't hook little fish with them either, but when a redfish or something like that grabs them it seems like I hook them.

That was a BIGGIN! I only fished about a day and a half with poor conditions and I still landed about a dozen of them pretty much solo. That's the Georgia coast I was on, yes. We don't get a lot of credit for saltwater, but our coast has an INCREDIBLE inshore fishery for trout, reds, flounder, whiting and sheepshead in particular. The setup in this video is a 10ft MH spinning rod, 6500 reel, 65# braid, 80lb shock leader to a Hatteras style drum rig.

Thoughts on braid-leader for treble hook swimsuits like 8" mag draft and bull shad? I know you like that mono/copoly from the FNG podcast but was wondering if you thought braid was a big disadvantage? Hoping to get double use out of a rod I also use for frogging.
@king.of.anglers Жыл бұрын
Braid to leader on single hook baits, sure. Probably not on anything with trebles. It's fine for bottom baits line hudds and burrito baits, maybe even preferable. But glide baits and multi piece hardbaits, I'd prefer copoly for sure
