Canopy Camping Australia

Camping off-grid is awesome, in any weather. I have a passion for off-roading, camping, gear reviews and videography. Working toward living on the road full time. Hopefully the trips and videos we do help inspire others to begin exploring. Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoy. You can find me on Facebook, Instagram and KZread. Yet to use mine, but great idea for holding your spot. Even staying in a caravan park I have come back from touring to find idiots trailers and all sorts in my paid site and what a pain if it is late and THEY have disappeared & their stuff can’t be easily shifted out 👌🏾

Hy Wayne - very good and informative - Question: can I download the Hema maps I have purchased and which are on my phone onto the Overlander? It seems not although in the beginning of the video you very quickly refer to Hema maps and at that point I thought they are pre-installed which however is contrasting with your comments at the end re the iPad etc. thanks for a hint - Marc

What rare find, a KZreadr that actually does an honest review and is not relying on kickbacks to pay for their trip around Australia or all their gear. You’ve saved me a lot of frustration, thanks very much for the review mate 👍

Good setup 4 locating lugs on the bottom will help put back on much faster to align the bolts, quick release latches would be good with locating lugs

Hi Wayne, can I please ask where you bought those silicon trays from? I recently bought the kickass 12v oven, and they look like they'd be perfect for it!

I’m very keen to buy a Tommy camper my only issue is bending the chassis. Because the back of the camper has to be at the rear of the tray I worry it’s a design problem that will inevitably will bend the chassis. Would love to hear your opinion, am I worried about nothing ?

I have a 20 year old Engel 40l fridge . Never let me down and still runs like the day I bought it . I also recently purchased a Kings 75 litre dual zone because of the price diff and a 5 year warranty matching the Engel warranty . I was considering a 40l Engel combi fridge freezer . I can no longer justify the price of the Engel . No longer made in Japan . As with most brands , Engel source the cheapest components like everybody else , So buying a brand is no longer a safe bet .

Great review. Is it possible to text from one zoleo to another Zoleo device directly. In other words let’s say you live in a major city and there’s a disaster that shuts down all power and cell towers. In that scenario can you send and receive texts directly without cell phone towers on either end? Thank you 🙏🏻

Hi Wayne ,, i gota say , this is weak as p...s from engel .. we have run them in our trucks for ages over the years ,( not uprights ) , and they worked well ... in fairness, to you they should have helped you in someway to fix it ?? As you run a great camper , .. honestly i thought your 1st fridge was quite good on your first camper ... all the best happy miles ...L shame on engel!!...

Thanks for the very clear explanation. For off-road use I am very undecided between this model and the Garmin Tread. I rejected the new Tread Overland because it was too expensive and big. What do you suggest me? On my Jimny cockpit I already have all the Ram Mount ball mounts for the Trip Computer and other accessories. Thanks a lot

I have a similar kettle that uses 400watts and it is lighting fast boiling water. I also have a 12V kettle that it is only a bit slower, but very good for a 12V one. I run them from the pecron 600 with 1200 inverter. I charge the Pecron with my diy 2500 watts system from the solar. Otherwise, I would have to take it outside to charge directly from the panels. I love my kettles, especially when I go camping.

There is three not two, traction control has three aspects 1. Engine retardation 2. Wheel spinning control 3. Eletronic Stability Control. Placing vehicle into low range will automatically turn off engine retardation TC and ESC. Wheel brake TC remains. If required, to then turn off wheel spinning traction control, yes hold down the button for several seconds to turn that feature off too but why would you want that off. That is my understanding on my MY18 Isuzu Dmax. Your advice is wrong.

I've been using inox lanolin sprays on my 80 series for over 30 years and the stuff is great I apply a full coating to the underbody, inside the doors under the bonnet inside the chassis rails ect. over 30 years it has probably cost me well over a thousand bucks in 30 years to spray it on 2 times a year but worth every cent. I do have a small rust bubble in the bottom of the drivers door drivers door and am sure there is some rust in the top off my windscreen as I have a few drips water every time it rains should be easy to fix and not cost too much. No product is 100% but i would recommend inox lanolin sprays i have nothing to do with them other than buying there products every 12 months if im lucky i get it on sale when SCA has 20-50% off sales and i will buy it then
