Mercer Falconry

Mercer Falconry

If you find animal training, falconry, or are generally just a fan of animal related content, then keep an eye out for future videos showing the training and general life with these birds!

Set in the countryside of Derbyshire, we provide a range of bird of prey experiences for all to enjoy. Our experience sessions allow people to get a hands on, up close, encounter with the birds while flying and handling them.

We also provide flying displays to a range of events such as The British Falconry and Raptor Fair. Our aim is to provide people with an educational experience that is enjoyable and shows these magnificent birds the respect they deserve.

I'm so sorry you've received such hate and negativity over time.. you're putting yourself out, giving amazing and factually correct information inspiring the next generation of falconers.. I applaud you and encourage you.. plus you and your fiancee are ridiculously good looking!

Here in the states we associate buzzards with vultures but Ive learned that buzzards in other regions are birds of prey. Wild.

I'm very much enjoying your videos! You are a clear communicator, a trait I'm learning is somewhat rare. Thanks for what you are giving! Regarding names, I like Adelaide--perhaps Addie for short. Of course, by now, your Caracara must already have a name.

... I think youtube is trying to convince me to get a bird of prey because I watched a video about one... I'm glad this came up in my feed, It's really nice to get a bit grounded hahaha Edit: It really sounds like a wonderful lifestyle though.

The area you can hunt in and the game you can hunt make the decision for you… most important is opportunity for the bird on regular bases.

Hi Dan, thanks for posting the video. Thinking about getting into falconry and i have a question of the housing. I have a double garage and i was thinking about building an aviary inside but i notice all the aviaries i see are outside. Is an inside aviary an option? I thought it might be kinder to control the temperature. I would also look to have a weathering and a lawn perch.

I just saw one of your videos with Kit. She's soooo gorgeous. All your birds are incredible. I can see why these birds can become a lifelong passion. They are awesome creatures. And I use the word awesome quite literally. I am in awe of them 😍😍😍 Edit.... I've just watched to the end of the video and you mentioned Kit... I watched the video and am now sat here crying. You shared so much together and she was with you right up until the end. You couldn't have done any more. My heart breaks for you. She was so very special and you have those beautiful memories. She's at peace and I'm so very sorry for your loss. Your heartbreak and your absolute love for her was so very obvious in that video. She was with you and you were there for her, you were together at the end, please take comfort from that. I've lost loved ones and i wasn't there at the end, or the end was less peaceful. She slipped away gently and that is something to hold on to. God bless her. 🙏🏻 And you 💔

There are so many videos like this, and while yes this is helpful, they don't give you any information on how to go further and actually learn the stuff you need to know, and how to actually start.
