  0:24 I will never forgive her for not singing like this in the studio version 😭 that was nasty work and key change was instant. And I love how she sung it more pushy than she had to it really adds that grit and aggression that really suits the Rock undertones that "Miss Independent" has like she was possessed by Whitney Houston and Christina Aguilera in that performance and it's hands down my favorite performance of "Miss Independent" she lit that room on. 🔥😂 And can we also talk about how she realistically doesn't have to go for those crazy notes when performing this song cuz in the studio version I think she just hits an E5 briefly in the background and then it just fades out but almost every time she performs this song live she kicks it into overdrive and makes the song 10x harder than it has to be especially when she goes for those extremely high belts like G and A just truly incredible 👏🤯 moments like those are the reason she's one of my favorite singers and one of my biggest inspirations to start singing myself and she influences the way I sing she just truly one of the greatest to ever do it. 🥹❤️‍🔥

  Different key suggestions: BTHE at Winter Wonder Jam, and Vh1 acoustic sessions BOY. at St. Louis, Hinda Civic Tour. Never Again at Jonesboro (probably one of the best F#5 that kelly has ever belted.) 😊

  I love Kelly clarkson. I think she’s one of the most emotive talented vocalists and when she does covers of songs… she’s so damned good it’s her song now. Seriously…. So this isn’t coming at all from a place of hate. An F5 is not high. That’s basically the top range for an alto voice. Mezzo sopranos and sopranos can sing much higher. And since Kelly has sung phantom of the opera before… an F5 also isn’t remotely a high note for her either. I don’t get this video.

  The recent clip, imo, clearly demonstrates the level of experience and maturation her vocal talents have gained. Accomplishing the same note and pitch without the same intensity on her vocal cords. Less scream and more control. The person who said she has no control in her upper range is sniffing too much glue. She is top 10, if not top 5 singer’s all time, SPECIFICALLY known for her pipes and huuuuuge range. Look it up

  On this song…. It’s preference isn’t it??? Jessie then , Kelly then Arianna …… for all you Arianna fans She doesn’t have grit or soul on certain words that need it…. And as clear as Arianna sounds she doesn’t have a full sounding voice for me Like a tea kettle hitting its high note is not appealing to me. The other two have full voices where it almost sounds like a harmony just by themselves love that quality

  To be fair, My Love Mine All Mine and the Billie Eilish and Bon Jovi songs and Bad Romance and Don’t Start Now sound amazing original too. Mitski and Billie Eilish especially design their songs to be more lowkey and soft, as opposed to belting songs. My favorite cover of hers was the Gwen Stefani one.

  This doesn’t deserve the same treatment as the C5 vs C6 debate. Back in my day, us Kelly Clarkson fans were being bullied by a small minority of Beyoncé and Mariah Carey fans that kept undermining her abilities and would constantly make fun of us for liking her.   Listen, I love the original. Listening to Billie talk about how she chose the emotional tone of the song makes me cry. But Kelly brings the emphasis in a different way than Billie, and it makes the song something different. Both are incredible ❤
