Im thirty minutes north of Charlotte. Its awful hot.
It's very hot and humid. I've only been here for 3 months, so I'm trying to acclimate to the heat.

YES! I love it. I wear mine so much too, they are a perfect layering piece to throw on/off as the temp changes.
I've had some holes in wool blazers from ThredUp, but they refunded my money & I got to keep the items. Darn moths! Love the flame red of that J Crew cardigan!
They have a really good return policy. I would rather keep the item than have it in the landfill. I don't mind small imperfections.
I tried to buy 3 items from thread up today , but it would not accept my card!!?
I heard a lot of businesses were effected by the crowdstrike security issue today, that might be why. I went to Wholefoods and their system was really slow. The airports were essentially down today, all flights were delayed or cancelled.
Hi new Charlottean, Thrifting is so much better than trying to enjoy the hot humid weather. I would love to make things and upcycle. You will probably like some of the places other people listed. I made note of a few I’ve not been to. Some Goodwills are definitely better like the one in Weddington. East of Charlotte (not mentioned) are many thrift shops including I’ll Second That, Matthews and Monroe Habitat for Humanity, Second Chance in Monroe and Waxhaw, Zabs Place in Matthews, and Good Stewart and several others that have been in Monroe a long time. I didn’t mention them all. Lots of farms and produce stands to visit too ❤. I’d make placemats with the gingham shirts and maybe a centerpiece with gingham ribbon. I might tie die the bedspread or make it boho with elephant prints and daisies. The slip scares me lol.
Thank you for the amazing recommendations. I'm adding them to my list. I do love all the farmer's markets and pop-up vintage markets here. It seems like there's something happening every weekend which is so much fun. I love the idea of placements, I have a few ideas saved on my "upcycle/sewing" Pinterest board. Haha, yeah slip dressing isn't for everyone.

I can't leave a beautiful vintage coat behind. I can never stick to a season when shopping. When I find a beautiful piece, it has to come with me. This is also why I have to limit my trips to the thrift. I have run out of space, and I love it all. 😂

How much larger is the shirt than your actual size?
This shirt is a men's medium, which would be considered an oversized shirt for me. I'm a women's size small. One thing to consider when selecting a shirt, darts and princess seams will effect the shape of the shirt. You can also add adjustments.

I second keeping the blanket as is, cuz it’s waaaaay too hot 10 months out of the year down here to wear any type of jacket. I’m also a transplant from up north and it’s been really sad not being able to wear my sweaters 😂

There are Salvation Army and Goodwill Stores N,S,E,W of you and the small surrounding cities. I would say within 30 miles tops in either direction. I have three beautiful, vintage, full slips (red, navy, ivory). Wore them as nightgowns. Very 50s-60s Liz Taylor. Im far too old to wear them as slip dresses but have always thought they had that potential, for someone more daring than me. But yep, you would get looks from the older crowd.
