My favourite set of 1/72nd scale Airfix figures along with the US para's and 8th. Army in the same scale. Collected virtually every set back in the '70's along with the 1/32nd scale sets. About 17p a box about 1972/73!

Here is my 9 year old self’s review: Disappointing - Very few poses - no novelty things like heavy machine guns/rubber dinghies/ at guns On the plus side it had lots of SMGs.

This is a good kit originated from Revell. However the more superior kit seems to ne the Vespid production which is a bit mote expensive.

Blue paint job. I read that Matilda tanks weren’t painted with blue until some museum painted its tank with whatever paints it had in its workshop and then Tamiya took up the colour scheme from the museum followed by others. I’d welcome anyone’s knowledge on this matter.

Way back in the early 90 's, there really wasn't much WW2 British stuff around and this kit ,long out of production ,was in high demand. Italeri announced a rerelease and my local hobby shop received orders for well over 40 kits ,including 3 for myself. The owner actually ordered 50 kits and he wasn't alone . Most hobby shop ordered as well and the grand total for Canadian demand was pretty high. The grand total has been lost to time ,but it was probably in the area of about 4000 plus .That is an educated guess BTW. When it finally happened, the modelling distribution gods decided that Canada got a grand total of...... One case of 12 kits. 12 kits out of possible 4000 + ordered. Bought by a hobby shop down the road from the distribution warehouse in BC. This was long before the web came along and squadron was still a flyer you got in the mail. Getting the stuff was a real headache then.

I built this kit at at least 25 years ago. It looks like a Panther. A model builder's kit. Simple and no need for bells and whistles.

I was building a SKIF T-55AM kit, but I've given up on it as SKIF T-55 kits are absolutely atrocious. Flash, ejector pin marks, crooked parts, plastic voids and the nail to the coffin was incorrect road wheels layout. Wheels 2, 3 and 4 were literally touching/squeezed together.

I bought one when they arrived in the UK many years ago. Looked good in the box, but as I got further into the build it became more and more obvious what a pile of junk it was. Never got to the painting stage and ended up in the bin.

If you look I actually said that the Tamiya one was dated, not superior. Dated means its showing its age. It doesn't mean I think its superior. You imagined that, probably because you wanted and needed to. You are also wrong in suggesting that I haven't built this kit. I built this kit ages ago but even then its shortcomings were obvious. The schurzen hides some of the running gear but not enough. Using the kit supplied zimmerit makes the shape and dimensions look very wrong. The problems with the hull and turret I mentioned are still there and very apparant. By the time you have bought the after market parts to make this thing look even remotely like an Ausf A , its into the price range of proper panther kits. Not to mention the time and effort needed to fit them, such as getting the turret to actually sit on the hull. I would recommend you save your pocket money up and get a proper panther. You'll get a model that looks like a panther, is accurate, fits together well, and gives you a great building experience that you should enjoy. I would watch a video of what sort of a job you make of it as you got a good result with the italeri kit

This kit is not that bad, the tow ropes do need replacing & the decals are rather plain but the finished article is pretty good.

To mention it first, although this old kit is an imposition, you made a good, decent and clean job. 👍 The problem with this kit is that it has inaccuracies. For instance; the edge of the rear panel is too high and it goes over the top edge. 👎 Instead it shoud be even with the rear floor, even with the ventilation grilles. It`s not your fault. Don`t know how Italeri coud make such a mistake. I had the same problem with the Bergepanther from them. 😕 I had to correct it. The second problem are the hanger bars for the spare tracks at the rear. Italeri indicates them in the plan and on the kit itself in the middle. 👎 That`s wrong. They shoud be above and flush with the top edge. Here my advice. While building a tank model don`t take the plan for granted. Do also always a research on the original. Google the tank`s name "Panther A walkaround" and and see the details. That way you will learn step by step more about tanks and you will increase your knowledge. 😉🙂

The cast hull Sherman my favorite tank. Because there was this museum with a rusty hulk of one outside and we could play in it. By now this derelict has probably been conserved.

Wonderful figures with insufficient number of poses for 1/72. Normally, when Airfix ported a set of 1/32 figures to 1/72 they would add a number of additional poses to avoid excess repetition and add greater variation of poses in the greater number of figures but not done with this set. Still, some of the best figures Airfix ever produced.

あれは 昭和50年くらいかな？ 田宮でsd.kfz251/1 ausf.c が発売されたと思うけど c型はかなり珍しいよね！ 一般的には その5年くらいかな？ フジミ（その後日東科学？）が出してたA型(モーターライズ)の方が知名度が高いよね？ なんでマイナーなC型をモデライズしてるのか？ フィギュアも田宮のやつに似てると思うよ？
