Ugh, I've lived in Florida, I was born there. The ppl coming from other states ruined it. They want rules everywhere and the retirees kill anything related to lifestyle for younger families. They paid taxes in their former states for that and now their done. Schools have closed, recreation programs are gone and young families are the ones that suffer. I'm 62 and wouldn't go back if you paid for my house. Who wants to live with a development full of nosey monitors and tattletales??

Casually looking in LWR area as I'm retiring in 3-4 years. Any new construction contract will say unlimited inspections done my me, or professional inspector. If they say no, the deal ends there.

Where are you going to get the water, where’s the storm water and sanitary going to end up. Garbage, HCA and SMH going to build more facilities there’s about 6.5 billion for two new facilities. And Police and Fire Rescue. So the Impact Fees if you are going to be honest will be at least 15k per residence. Honestly the first thought is the most important is WATER!!!!

Moving to Florida regrets; the heat, the humidity, the hurricanes, the traffic, the cost of home insurance.
I do home repair for a living mattamy and lennar are the worst i have ever seen. I constaly walk into new builds that need 30+ thousand in tepairs just to make them what they were supposed to be in the first place. Nothing about them is good. Shortcuts and shorting materials in walls and critical structural components, zero quality control on finish work, saving money by cutti g corners on electrical, improperly sized A/c units and water Heaters, the list just goes on and on. I have had over 50 customers in brand new builds need 30 grand in repairs just to make the house the way it was supposed to be delivered.
Please do not come to Florida if you are a Democrat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fled Southern California 12 years ago for South West Florida on the Gulf with no regrets. That was a time in Florida when you could buy waterfront homes (not condos) with a boat dock for under $350K. Now your waterfront house is worth nearly $1M due to the shortage of waterfront because over a million moved here from Blue States.

Condo, home or tea... its a tax that owners are being Forced to pay...Uhmmm.you know know we live in a Republic..its illegal for the whatever local government to force taxes...For any of you idiots who are to weak to stand up. Moved here 6 years ago from NY and hate it. Too hot, too expensive, high car insurance due to theft. Too many people.. bad traffic. Home insurance out of control. Food prices way higher. Sick of watching for hurricanes all summer. That gets really old. Moved to be next to Anna Maria Island. Have to go at the crack of Dawn or no parking. Would not move here again. Moving back to NY once I sell my house.

Calusa National is going to be called Calusa Golf and Country Club. It is going to be one 18 hole golf course and a 12 hole executive course. I moved to Florida two years ago because my whole family moved here. I didn’t want to be far away from them for health reasons. The heat is unbearable in the summer. I never thought I’d say this but sometimes I miss shoveling snow. I miss the changes in seasons.
I frequently read or hear Americans saying this or that FL beach or island reminds them, o compares to a Caribbean beach 🙄🙄🙄 NOPE
