Nick I was reading your post on rc10 forum about gear vs ball diffs. My ball diff is messed up and I have an outdoor event tomorrow. Don’t really have time to mess with it. How can I set up my 4 gear bevel gear diff to feel similar to a proper ball diff?

It really holds up against the sanwa radio's. I use it on Pro10, touring cars and 1/8th scale racers. Receivers are small and have built in antenna's and go for 20,-. If you overcome the learning curve and give it a chance, you have a M17 spec radio (only without the programmable servo features) for a fraction of the cost.

I want to eventually have inserts for just about everything. The difficult part is testing and validating insert designs across multiple tires and brands. That takes time and money, but the more inserts I sell, the more tires I can buy to test/validate.

Love it, Nick! I’m remembering all the foams I ruined by water-bashing. The design possibilities are endless. Perhaps adjusting the smaller inner “ring’s” extension towards the outer rim for increased or decreased edge traction…endless adjustments! Thanks for sharing!

I was sure people would be snatching these up for the racetrack… not so much. I love mine though. The only really complicated part is when you need to start moving switches around and getting into 4WS. I still learned it but there is not way a kid will sit down and do that. The big deal for me was the quality and speed for the money. The only there transmitters close in surface is 6-800$.

I like your video. I bought one when they first came out with zero experience with this system. It’s not to bad when your doing the normal things, however getting into 4ws is a pretty big challenge. It was ok with me because I’m a diehard for 40 yrs and willing to learn anything new in rc. I don’t think these will really take off until us surface guys get a more user friendly update. It’s by far the superior transmitter for the money hands down.

Its interesting, coming from a mainly drone flyer exploring into rc cars, this seems so simple comparatively to drone rates and everything. A lot of drone guys will see radiomaster making a surface radio and get into it! Edge TX is complicated up front but after about an hour of youtube you can make it do anything that you could possibly want!

I used 2.5mm cf for everything. I'd probably go thicker on the shock towers though. I've broken a few already.

For the rear camber link block, what kind or screws are you using to attach it to the transmission? If you’re not using a countersunk screw I would switch to that, the tapered head is basically a self-centering locator

They're long countersunk screws that screw in from underneath the chassis. I thought that would be enough to keep things in place but there's just enough wiggle in the fit to cause issues.

Ok I see now, maybe short term fix you could sandwich some double sided tape between the block and chassis for a little extra lateral strength? Was also wonder how you cut out the shock towers, I have a work in progress 1/10 F1 that needs some carbon cut but I’m not sure if I should invest in a small CNC or just use something like SendCutSend

@@tomahawkgt3505 tape would help, but I constantly tune with those blocks so it's not really a viable solution. I have my own CNC I built a while back and that's how I cut my CF parts. Sendcutsend is really competitively priced for aluminum parts, but they are prohibitively expensive for composites. I get it, though, composite dust is nasty and you need the right gear to deal with it. I don't have that great which is why I'm not making parts to sell.

I love what you have done! Even more now that you made it public, that is beyond cool! There seems to be lots of upgrades you could do with your mm bandit like front roll bar, carbon top deck, aluminum hubs with a few holes for tuning, ti links, etc. which front a-arms are those? Almost look like protrac. I have a few modded bandits if you would like to see. I don’t have a printer, but if I ever do I would love to try building those parts. Thanks for the kind words! The front a-arms are the Traxxas HD arms for the Bandit. They're supposed to be tougher, but I have them because they let me use the aluminum caster blocks I had from my Traxxas trucks.

Would definitely love to try these files out myself. I’d love to mess with different materials and tweaks. I hacked apart my bandit chassis to make it mid motor but that only gets you so far. I think you started quite a bit of a cult following with the bandit. Great work! Definitely keeping an eye out for if and when you release files.

I have my own mid motor bandit, but I used the standard traxxas trans, mirrored the halves so i could get mid motor and have the motors (brushless fixed timing) spinning the right way. I like your design because it looks like its lower and moves the motor more forward.

Don't how I came across this video, but I love it! Reminds of the days of old when stadium trucks where big. You had all makes competing, you had your high-end race rigs and you had the entry level RC stuff. (Example- Losi xxx-tcr's vs. out of the box Rustlers) The best drivers and RACERS were the guys like you. Taking the time to "fine tune" what they had and what they had to work with.

The rear end was definitely too "locked in" - I really had to work to get the car to rotate even a bit. I chalk it up to being set up for dirt.

A mid motor conversion has been an Idea ive had for nearly 20 years for my bandit and rustler but its just beyond my capabilities. Its great that you have made it happen, congrats on an awesome build. First video of this channel ive seen and now to sub.

It’s about time carbon fiber comes to rc cars. I fly drones and they been carbon for a long time. The light weight and durability is amazing. It can still break but it doesn’t bend .
