Not a good video fir showing
I LIVE HERE
She did not mention the high rate of crime in Kent.
Definitely something to consider!
You are totally wrong about Lakeland Hills. My house there is worth between 500-600k, so prices do NOT start at 600k as you said. FURTHERMORE, there are a number of condos and townhomes within the development that start much lower, around 300k and up. Please get your facts straight.
Hey, thanks for watching! I made this video a year ago, and it reflects the prices at the time.
For years I lived at an apartment complex just outside Renton on SW Sunset Blvd (900), looking over the Kent Valley, with a view of Mt. Rainier and Mt. St Helens (on very clear days), but moved due to crime (I really miss the view). Ok, it may not have been considered a "natural disaster", but the Nisqually earthquake (2-28-2001) caused problems for people and companies to find where to live and work from. My group was moved several times while our offices were demolished and replaced.
I hope you take the time to read this. But Renton was a nice place when I visited late September back in 2023 but is was awesome but the crime and the people aren’t the best. You just gotta know who you’re talking to . But I do have an aunt that lives in Renton they like it but are they are most likely not going but a house there. But have a blessed day !
I live at the border of Kent and I like it much better than Auburn. While there is crime, crime is everywhere. I’ve had stuff stolen from me here in Auburn, in Renton and in Bremerton 🤷🏽♀️ it is what it is. For me as a WOC, it’s very diverse and that can’t be said for a lot of areas in the state. That’s what brought me to the area and I’m glad I did.
I lived in Kent for 17 years.
you mention the White River Amp but not the Muckleshoot Casino or Emerald Downs Horse Racetrack? They are both on the Muckleshoot Reservation and the Casino is closer to "Town" lol and Emerald Downs is between Auburn and Tacoma
Pro: You CAN eat a bag of Dick's.......Con you could potentially find a dead body along the Green River as it is known as the main dumping ground for one of America's most notorious Serial Killers Gary Ridgeway AKA the Green River Killer lol
South King County is indeed terrible. the best parts of the county are east and north King which includes Seattle although the city has been going down hill lately.
I miss Frys
Nicely done video! You captured this up and coming town well! It’s really a great place to live ❤
Thanks so much! 😊
Hi I'm going to move to seattle soon but still im confused where should i move to? Because i wanna start from zero so do you recommend me kent or other suburbs but safe and affordable housing

Wow ma'am, I couldn't stop watching-this video is incredibly insightful and well-produced!
Glad you enjoyed it!
How about how crime compare to other suburban areas of Seattle? Can you make a video about it?
Yes, absolutely! Great idea! Thanks for watching!
2:25 "It is on the eastern shore of Lake Sammamish" Nope. Kirkland is on the east side of Lake Washington. Lake Sammamish is just south of Redmond.
Ha I just misspoke :) didn’t catch it! Thanks
Everyday I wake up, I want to kill myself living in Kent. And I’ve lived in Kent all my life.
Kent is the literal anus of WA, I know, I use to live on the east hill
That strip mall on E. Lake Sammamish Pkwy close to Issaquah really needs a face lift. it looks pretty dull and ugly for an affluent area like that. I lived in Sammamish and drove down E.Lake Sammamish many times, but never stopped there for anything. additionally, there is another strip mall in Kirkland that really needs to be torn down because it looks like one of those strip malls in a ghetto. it just doesn't fit in with that affluent part of Kirkland. it has a convenience store, Indians owned and a few more stores.
Renton is a shithole.
Or someone who is a trades person and they work in downtown but can’t afford to live anywhere even close to Seattle. And they have to live in places like Enumclaw and commute two hours to work.
Lmao An hour and 30 minutes away with any traffic.

Grew up in marysville and Camano island my entire life, wasn’t till I moved down to Auburn as an adult that I realized every city in the southern region of Washington is trash, from north Seattle to Tacoma and everywhere in between is trash, I can’t wait to move back up north.
Very informative video, edition is really good too. Thanks for sharing ❤
Glad you liked it!

Nice video, but anyone considering moving to Auburn i would think again. Auburn is a trash, it used to be much better years ago but so did most of King County.
I would love to relocate from Kenya to Seattle Washington
How about Redmond?
What about Redmond??
Watching from Nakuru Kenya
Thanks for watching!
For the people reporting crime. I've only had nothing but positive interactions with law enforcement. See something. Say something. Education, used to be on the National Education of Excellence. Kentridge HS won a National Award in 1992. Do better KSD.
Greetings to you from Guyana 🇬🇾. I love this video because of how present the facts. Keep it up. What is the cost of living like there? Is it wise to attend college in this city based on the cost of living factor? Have you done any video on Spokane? Thanks.
Thanks for watching!! It’s expensive to live here for sure. Single people will have to make 100k plus to living comfortably, and families will likely need to make $250k plus. There are colleges throughout the Seattle area, and tons of tech jobs. I don’t cover Spokane. It’s beautiful, but about 4 hours east of Seattle on the eastern part of the state.
Why are people leaving Seattle? Gee I wonder why.
Parts of outer Seattle is absolutely charming, beautiful, and full of character!! It’s a huge city. Over 750k people. It’s not a simple problem, there aren’t simple solutions, and the city is diverse in every sense, for better and worse. Downtown does struggle, in many areas.
A lot of the homeless are people who worked then retired and now collect a social security security retirement check, but cannot afford present day rents. I live in California's Bay area and even in the worst parts of town, no grocery stores or any other stores for that matter, except stores selling candy and chips and cigarettes. The rent in those areas, 15-20 years ago would have been 3-500 a month, is now $1600. All the landlords evicted the old renters and now charge full market rates. Those retirees cannot even rent a room anywhere.
Rental prices are too bad… So the answer is to move to California? That doesn’t make any sense.
I think the bigger question is ..........Why does anyone stay?........progressive policies have killed Seattle, like most Democrat ran cities....drugs, crime, and homeless tents defines any blue cities....ughhh.....ain't no one got time for that!
Thank you so much for the informative video!! I would like to learn more about Washington state, especially the west side. I subbed!!
Glad it was helpful! Let me know if I can help with anything else!
Definitely considering a move there thank you for your info!!!
That’s awesome! Let me know how I can help.
The only metros growing a lot, numerically are: Dallas-Fort Worth Houston Phoenix Charlotte Atlanta Austin San Antonio Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Nashville Orlando Jacksonville Charleston SC Greenville SC Basically the South plus Phoenix.
Texas is not the South.
@@non-indexed2896 The US Census Bureau says otherwise, as do cultural elements within the state.
@@willp.8120 yeah I get that, but I’m from Texas (specifically the RGV) and I don’t feel a cultural connection to the South. It’s a big state and I would rather be considered a part of the Southwest.
@@non-indexed2896 I'm from the SW and have never thought or even heard of Texas as SW.
@@jazzcatjohn in that case. I’ll just say Texas is just Texas. We don’t need to be a part of your super special club or any other.
Two words, Democrat Policies.
womp womp
and Dallas Texas is number 1
People definitely move here for the same reasons too!
I would say that yes that may be true, however there has definitely been more inflows to Republican lad cities lately. Imagine defunding your police?😅
So, by that logic, it was obviously Democrat policies that drove the phenomenal growth in these cities from the 90s to 2020 then, right? Or, maybe it is just an increase in remote work let people work in lower cost cities while still getting higher pay... which of course makes the lower cost areas no longer lower cost...
Short answer is... Depends
Wasn't that survey conducted in 2021 or 2022?
I believe 2021, thanks for watching!

Nice details, could cover jobs, software companies, rental houses.
Great suggestion! I do cover a lot of that in my pros and cons videos, besides rental homes, because I am a realtor. Thanks for watching!

My family lived in Auburn for about 20 years and we finally moved away in 2001 because f the overall violence and theft. My Mom would find needles and condoms in her flower beds in the front yard. I recently visited the area and it’s still pretty ghetto in a lot of areas especially towards the Super Mall. Sadly we lived in the hood so that contributed to it. My parents wanted to move because they didn’t want to raise another child in the area because of the violence. The public schools I attended were absolutely terrible as well unless you went to a private school. Gildo Rey and Mount Baker were the schools I attended. Back in the 1980’s the schools and neighborhoods seemed much safer and better overall. Not in the 90’s. I really hope and pray the area gets better over time. This was my home so it hits hard for me. Mount Rainier was always very beautiful!!!! Don’t get me wrong… my relationship with Auburn is a love and hate relationship. Thank you for the video!!!!
Thanks so much for watching. It’s such a beautiful suburb with so much potential, but crime really does make for an unpleasant taste in some areas. Thanks for watching!
Love Auburn! Very thorough & educational video :)
