I amways saw a lot of mannerisms in Tori's singing that reminded me of Kate, specially in the backing vicals. This is lively that she pays tribute. Kate was a trail blazer so is Tori for others. What a tremendous talent is Tori Amos. She "sort of" caught the right time, but not exactly. She is an amazing artist, but the public is sometimes idiotic. I love her, love Kate Bush, love Eivor. I don't mind they borrow. xx

Of course there would’ve been a Tori without Kate. She plays the piano since she was three years old and went to a conservatory at five and a half years old. She was influenced by a lot of music from an early age. She was a huge Led Zeppelin fan and wanted to look like Robert Plant. Of course Tori admires Kate, who wouldn’t?

Although Kate and Tori have some similarities, I feel Tori has a slightly more gentle touch here than the Kate Bush version. Her rendition is breathier and more ethereal. Kate is a little more nasal as well. I think she sings it at a higher pitch than the original too. Both are beautifully sung. Tori clearly is influenced by Kate, but she is not a copycat. She has had to compose her own music and lyrics through the years and she has birthed some amazing compositions. Both are greats in their own rights.

I now realize and hear it how much Kate Bush influences Tori Amos in her music!! Tori sounded so much like Kate, in a most complimentary and high regards way I am saying this. Thank you Kate for influencing and shaping one of my favorite artist other than yourself!!!!!

Tori said she admittedly didn't start listening to Kate until much later. She heard Running Up That Hill but didn't check out the rest of her music until after comparisons between the two were made.

Tori was admitted to a conservatory at five years old. She’s influenced by a lot of music. I’m a huge fan of Kates music, I never heard a lot of similarities. But I guess the fact that they are women who compose, play the piano, have red hair and can sing high is enough for people to think they are the same.
