These stihl pole saws are the biggest pieces of shit I’ve ever seen . One branch falls wrong is all it takes to bend the flimsy top pole and flimsy driveshaft. It Only costs around $3-400 in parts to repair it. But hey my ht101 engine still runs. I’ll stick with echo from now on.

Have their top battery machine, as of 2024, 540 iXP. Great power. Great in this regard. Chain tensioner mechanism drives me nuts. Essentially same as this. Keeps slipping, loosening, chain goes slack far too early after re-tension. Can see nub turn! No chain isn't stretching, yes am familiar with chain mounting fundamentals: lift bar nose up when tightening side cover - pointed the above out each time matter is discussed. Any solutions? Chalk brushed into tensioner thread perhaps?

I replaced mine and it doesn't change at all. It has a roll pin that only allows 1/4 turn. I removed the pin to try to close the flow and the whole adjuster comes loose. I tried 8 different amounts of turns and it still oils excessively.

My Echo SRM 225 runs like a BEAST for about 15 minutes and then boggs right out... if I let it sit for about 20min I can repeat the process however it always seems to "choke" out. It'll restart immediately but the moment I hit anywhere near half throttle it starts to choke even though it ran perfectly normal up till then... lower mid-range seem to function but the moment you get anywhere near the high end of the throttle it just drowns once it's good and hot I've replaced the fuel delivery system, cleaned the carburetor, changed the spark plug and kept her topped off with fuel plus of course always kept a nice clean air filter... I build gas RC cars, ride Motor Cross Bikes and have Decades of experience maintaining chainsaws, lawn mowers and all types of gas powered equipment yet I've never seen anything quite like this... I guess the next thing I'm going to try is to completely swap out with a new carburetor? I bought her new and never had a problem for about 7 years of residential use🤔

The bigger sprocket diameter will give you a higher chain speed, not so much torque. Think of putting your truck in 5 th gear and start up a hill vs 1 st gear which one will get you to the top fab steep hill?

NICE!!. Thats what i was looking for. I wanted to not use the million dollar grease but didnt know how to thoroughly get grease down, in there. Didn't think about tossing a zerk fitting in there. Stihl Head is Metric, 10x1.5 pitch threads.
