I love a western. My dad loved em too, and we used to watch them together when I was a little bloke… over 50 years ago. He’s be gone 25 years now, and these films remind me of those days. This is one of john Wayne’s best characters, and one of the best shoot outs. I much prefer this version to the new one. Rio bravo is my favorite though, but that might have something to do with the very hot Angie dickensen.

Some of these 'kills' were self defence, some were 'executions', like the bloke who threw down his gun and ran away and the guy he shot in the balls from behind, guess they were "shit out of luck".

He was knocking back 3 bottles of hard alcohol a day and still wasn’t sure if he was an alcoholic 😂 The good old days. Nonetheless a beautifully honest description of the horrible struggle so many go through, often silently.

Absolutely stunning. So well put. The irony of alcoholism is that you never believe you’re, strangely, “important” enough to be an alcoholic. A rich and successful man like Burton, a Welshman with a poet’s heart, how hard it must’ve been to admit the things he shares here.

Sergio Leone will always be known for using close ups of eye and facial expressions to give the uncertainty of who will make the first move. The actors were very convincing in their characters they portrayed.

Why is everyone talking to police when they have the right to remain silent? Talking to police is dangerous and could be self-incriminatory. Nothing is off-record.

Despite the lighter, wouldn't the police have to place the Rent-a-car and the perpetrator at the scene of the crime and how would they do that? Not as if they had CCTV everywhere that could trace both.
