If you take his average yards per attempt 6.6 and add 120 more attempts which puts him close to 400 attempts about 380. He has 2500 yards passing. Mike is right give the man more volume.

Let me be clear...I'm not high on PT...I'm am supporting the guy who is the starter and hopeful that he improves. I think he can play better but I don't have much to be "high" on. We have plenty of people to speak about Auburn in a negative way. All my siblings are married to Bama fans and I live in Tally where my SEC friends are Dawgs and Gators. I'm sure the folks who live elsewhere in the South get the same treatment. There really is no shortage.
My unpopular opinion: our running backs room isn't as great as people think. Jarquez Hunter, who was clearly our #1 back, had less than 60 rushing yards in seven games.
I don't think that's because the RB room isn't good. It's a symptom of O Line and the pass game being ineffective. The fact that he almost had 1k yards with those issues and he missed a game tells me how good he is. - Ike

Against Alabama Thorne was 5/16 for 91 yards, 31% completion, 1td, 2ints,4 sacks and ran 15 times for 57 yards. Against UGA Thorne was 10/19 for 82 yards, 52.6% completion, 0td, 1int, 3 sacks, 12 rushing attempts for 92 yards with a long of 61 yards meaning he only ran for 31 yards in 11 attempts... in what world are those good stats?

Having a QB be a gadget guy that got 17% of the snaps does not amount to a "carousel" by any stretch, it wasnt even a rotation...just hyper strange gadget use ONLY, infrequently, which was redzone against UMASS and then harum scarum while MID QB1 got the VAST majority, 83% of the snaps... any suggestion that this infrequent gadget use was to blame for PT being MID is ludicrous nonsense and not supported by the facts....edit for disclaimer... not saying anyone at TWR is pushing this narrative, the post went somewhere it wasn't supposed to and im too tired to repost it...for those who push this silly excuse narrative. Dude it’s July 1 lol. None of us fans should be giving a rats behind about these verbal commitments until we see how the season plays out and what happens in December. Auburn was a deflected pass, and 2 defensively mismanaged games away from a 9 win season. CHF is just fine.

Last year if we didn't have a QB carousel and if Hugh was calling plays we could have had at least 8-9 wins. Hugh not calling plays this season is making me very cynical but I can see 8 wins with Thorne as QB(maybe) lol

Seems everyone forgets about Bo Wallace. Everyone in MS wanted Freeze to bench Bo. Freeze stayed with Wallace and he killed it in his second year. He put an AU transfer QB in the league. Auburn has recruited 3 NFL QB’s since 2017. It’s not like they haven’t been here before. The problem has been the development AND evaluation of QB’s. We can get em, just can’t seem to keep em due to horrible decision making. Mr. Potato ran Nix off. Gus ran Willis off when Bo came in. Bo should have been RS and Willis get two years out of Willis and 3-4 from Bo. Then we played musical chairs for a few years. Put WAY too much stock in Ashford. I thought for sure we were getting Grayson McCall but……. Hugh hasn’t been given a chance to prove/disprove his evaluation or development of his own QB’s. I don’t understand why we’re not going after KJ Lacey instead of Lewis. Lewis is playing the NIL market and everyone knows it. Kids like that will transfer their second season and get even more money. We need QB’s and I think Lewis could be great, but to what cost? We’re just going to RS Lewis WHEN he doesn’t win the job over Hank or WW anyway. Put stock in someone who doesn’t mind waiting their turn and get experience before transferring. We can’t bring in talent like WW and Hank just to start a freshman over both. They’d be gone after spring of 25’. At best the following season, leaving us with only 1-2 scholarship QB’s. It’s madness chasing the kid. This kid is looking for $$$ and playing time. Don’t give him either and grab one from the portal. TX is loaded at QB so I’m expecting a transfer there. We could go hard on KJ and flip him before we get Lewis.

People it’s the first of July. Recruiting comes with ups and downs. Nobody has paid more attention to recruiting at Auburn than right now that Freeze is here. You’re gonna have players flip, decommit, recommit, all kinds of stuff. We are way ahead of where we were last year at this time. Chill out man. Two recruits decommit and all of a sudden we are crumbling…lol, put your big boy pants on, we didn’t break the top 10 until EARLY SIGNING DAY last year. Freeze never gives up on a recruit. Just because we didn’t pick up a commit, doesn’t mean it’s over for them. How many guys did we flip on early signing day? Like 3 or 4??? And one was a 5 star in Cam Coleman? We will be fine. Everybodies gotta take a chill pill. You think recruits decommitted because he went on vacation??? lol. Carde Smith was a mutual parting of ways, and Tyler Lockhart is from Mississippi and wants to go play with his brother. But we can still get these recruits back. It happens all the time

Getting KLS and the freshmen WRs puts pressure on Payton Thorne to perform. I like where we’re at for the QB position.
I also think Freeze is currently overrated. Thats where my agreement with SEC Mike ends. Freeze has exceeded my expectations in recruiting and he is 100% building it the right way but gameday matters also. We need him to be involved with game planning and play calling. He is being rated for doing all of those things and if he isn't calling plays then he is overrated. We should have won 8-9 games last season but fell short.
