    What are the technical differences? I read somewhere that the roof line (and headroom?) were lower on the 3 door? Is the underbody brace standard on a 3 door but not 5 door? Any other differences aside from cosmetic? Thanks

  • @roadreg1820
    @roadreg18202 күн бұрын

    No differences in roof line. Exactly the same wheel base, expect the rear doors are squeezed in to fit in the size of the 1 series. I am not 100 percent on the underbody brace. I think you’d have to put one on.

    Is it fine to immediately put it into gear to move into a new parking bay after a cold start? Because i look at this way. When you start the engine, keep the rpm in mind, and then when u out car in drive, it has merely the same rpm right? I won’t be giving it any gas just coasting with brake. So would that be fine if I do it?

    Thays why i invested in a p3 gauge, i like knowing how warm everything is, but absolutely understand that not everyone has 400 plus quid to be able to do this!. Its also about having a bit of common sense, if youre screaming off your driveway at 7k revs on a cold morning then you shouldn't own a performance car in the first place?! Haha

    Getting the pressure fan so close to dirty pain,t water jets the sand/dirt particles across the paint, creating tiny scratches/marring, prewash foam with good lubricity for that exact issue

    I use the Flare detailing PH neutral foam which is absolutely incredible. Their website said it contains ingredients that expand out and actively attack and dissolve the grim rather than just loosening it and I was pretty skeptical but now a year on I wouldn't use anything ever again! It's truly amazing how well it works, super thick (like actual foam) just be sure to leave it for 4-5minutes.

    I use the Bilthamber Touchless Off then do a full contact wash, iron fallout and tar decontamination before rinsing down and sealing with the Touchless On. It’s a great product that I use once a month but due to the crappy roads, weather and local wildlife, it doesn’t last long enough for my liking - unless I washed it on a weekly basis.

    I know what you mean.. I think anything other than a ceramic won’t last a long time unless you keep on top of it, however 1 month of re-application isn’t so bad. I guess you could use some quick detailer in between that month of application?

    I have a BMW 335D X drive and I also had a host of codes appear although this was due to rodent damage on my engine wiring loom. I posted a video (jerry walker) showing the cause. I use a really nice scanner called a Launch 2. It reads the VIN and then connects to the internet to find what options are supposed to be fitted so it knows what to scan for. I used it to clear the codes and it works really well. It also creates reports based on the stored codes and has detailed explanations on what each code means.

    The little triangle with the ! Is the check control warning. It comes up for all sorts of reasons. The ABS rings used to be an issue on the previous generation of 1 series. The shafts swell up and push the toothed ring into the sensor. If the end of the ABS sensor is worn, you need to do driveshaft work. Don't bother with Carly, just get BimmerLink as someone else said, and a Bluetooth adapter for about £20. It would also work with torque

  • @roadreg1820
    @roadreg182028 күн бұрын

    Oh wow. Sounds like it’s still an issue on the F21’s. I really hope I don’t need a new drive shaft this time, and it’s just a worn sensor. Thanks for the advice and information!
