  Hey quick question. im a GHA Titanium member as well and im interested to book this hotel for my next visit to tokyo. i ve been sending emails to the hotel but no one replies me. So the q is, how do you request for the upgrade in the hotel? heard that we do check in automatically on an ipad (?) , and does thie hotel accept D$ for payment? Thanks

  Nice video but sorry that does come off as a bit entitled expecting a higher upgrade. My wife and I stayed at Umana and the staff were amazing. We stayed at a Hyatt in Ubud before going to Umana and got zero upgrades in Ubud. They offered us 2 free cocktails as a consolation for no upgrade lol. We don’t drink so it didn’t do much for us, but it is what it is. We booked Umana with points and 3 FNC, we were upgraded to a panoramic ocean view. I think it will always vary depending on the time of stay and staff at the hotel handling your booking.

  H, Nice video. We are planning to book Cliff Junior Pool suite for our August Bali stay. I wanted to know which month did you stay and was It crowded? How was the service? We stayed at "The Mulia' suites during our last Bali visit and it was peaceful and luxurious. We are travelling to Bali this Aug and confused as in to rebook 'Mulia' or try Apurva. Thanks.

  LOL! You don't like Marina City! When it was built, it was Chicago's pride and joy. We used to call it "the corn cob buildings." It really was a phenomenal engineering achievement at the time.

  I stayed at MBS 2 years ago and found the Roberto Cavalli amenities were really nice. Pondering whether to try this one, but sad the Cavallis are replaced.

  I also stayed in 2022 and remember those black and gold amenities. I personally like the Bvlgari ones more. In the normal rooms they give Salvatore Ferragamo which is also nice.

  I am planning to stay here in June, along with the Kimpton and the St Regis hotels in the city. However, do you think 1 night is enough at the Park Hyatt? Seems a lovely hotel, mainly for the pool and rooftop area, but so expensive even for the cheapest rooms...

  Nice lineup of hotels you got there! I think 1 night at any hotel isn't really enough to experience the full property, which is why I always have the policy of staying at least 2 nights at every hotel I stay at. If you can get an early check-in and a 4pm check out though, I would say do it!

  I was planning to stay in Nusa Dua for 2 nights, just inside the resort. Do you recommend Apurva Kempinski or Ritz Carlton or Sofitel? How was the food and service here? Is there a butler system like in Sofitel for Suites and Villas?

  Hey sorry for the late reply! It depends on what you're looking for. The Ritz does not have a club level, the Apurva does. The Ritz is older, but in my experience quieter and with more personalized service (outside of the club areas of the Apurva). The Apurva is newer, with a much higher "wow" factor. It also has far more choices for food, although very expensive even compared to western prices. If I could do both hotels again I would choose the Apurva in the Cliff Suites with a nice private pool :D I I have not stayed at Sofitel Bali before.

  gotta say the room aged like fine wine. considering its 30 year old age and super popular hotel, the cleanliness speaks to how meticulous they are taking care of the property. very nice tour, Glenn! the small tv above the bathroom vanity is wild though hahaha

  I'll be honest- when I stayed here I couldn't believe I was in Japan. It's not a place I'd stay twice. There was trash on the street, drunk people passed out, and it was generally very noisy even into the night. Access to the main Shinjuku station is also 10 minute walk so the location isn't as attractive as you'd think. The biggest pro is this suite upgrade I received (huge for Tokyo) and the views from all the rooms at this hotel.

  Thank you for your comment! I would personally pick the Park Hyatt. The Raffles is fantastic but is comparatively older. The Park Hyatt is also much less chaotic. The service is fantastic at both.

  I love Ritz-Carlton. I would highly recommend St Regis Nusa Dua and The Laguna by Marriott as well.

  It doesn't, but if you are a Globalist there is a Social Hour from 5-7pm where they serve a rotating selection of canapes and 2 drinks made by the bartender at The Bar on the Lobby.

  With tons of foreign hotel brands in Jakarta at high end market, hotels such as this and the Dharmawangsa have to put a theme that differentiate them from the foreign brands. Which explains the uniqueness of this hotel. Do take a look at the Dharmawangsa hotel, it's on the opposite end of this hotel. Super traditional and they ain't afraid to show it off

  Can't wait to see your video! Although the Rosewood HK is very pricy, it definitely worth it as it, I would say, mark the highest level of interior design in the urban hotel in the world!!!   Park Hyatt Sanya in Hainan is a hidden yem, you could take a look, in my view personally, it is better than Rosewood. For Capella you made a great decision as it's the best hotel in the whole island! W Macau is also very nice and it's really cheap, I mean compare to its offer. Anyway , have a wonderful and safe trip!! (You don't need to worry you safty when you are traveling in China as it's super safe, but be careful for the message scam, the only safty issue you need to be aware of.) @@GlennTedja

  If money was no issue I would still prefer the Umana Bali, but keep in mind Andaz is 1/3 the price of this hotel. I would choose the Andaz if price is taken into account. I am someone who enjoys less crowded properties.

  Yeah these are pretty fair complaints. I suppose in overcrowded Bali these this is a nice quiet oasis but at these prices I’m sure there’s better value to be had elsewhere. How did you book this? If I booked this via Impresario and had Diamond status I would be extra annoyed and I heard of similar things happening at the Conrad. Was there at least a paid upgrade option? Otherwise I guess I would just book the Alila next door. Also regarding LXR it’s a mixed bag but there’s definitely a few good ones out there (Zemi, Seychelles) but definitely quite a few meh ones.

  Thanks for your comment! I appreciate your insight. I actually booked with an Amex Aspire Free Night Certificate. I agree, I'd be even more disappointed if I was on an Impresario or FHR rate. I wasn't offered any paid upgrade but I also didn't inquire if I could pay. I haven't stayed at Alila nor do I know much about it, but in my experience Hyatt properties (especially in Asia) are extremely generous with their upgrades, often making space in premium suites when the standard suites are unavailable, a complete opposite to Hilton. LXR is interesting. Hope to see more from it in the future as it's still a pretty new brand. Thanks again for your comment and thanks for watching!

  TBH I don't think PH in New York is the flagship, or it maybe a flagship for symbolic reason, the best PH are always operated in Asia, Park Hyatt in Kyoto, Niseko, Bangkok, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Jakarta. But to be fair, as a hotel lovers I would said, luxury hotels in Asia are way better than the same brand in Europe and America, because the size of room and standard of interior design, Asia's always has the highest level. Anyway, really like your video, subscribed and liked! Hope you could get to China to exploring more beautiful luxury hotels with the best value.

I think Hyatt themselves consider the PHNY as their flagship which is sad since it's not anywhere near the top quality the brand produces in Asia. Actually, I am planning a trip to China right now. In Western media there are basically 0 reviews of luxury hotels in China, and going by the pictures I am so impressed and can't wait to visit. On my bucket list are the PH hotels across all the major cities, Mandarin Oriental Beijing, J Hotel in Shanghai Tower, FS Guangzhou, Rosewood Guangzhou, Rosewood HK, and The Peninsula HK. I also am thinking of visiting Macau. Thanks again for your wonderful comment!

As a Chinese hotel lover( I don’t know how to say that in English properly, just a 酒店控), there are numerous great luxury hotels with much bigger room and much cheaper rate compared with those in the West. You know for everyone-knows reasons, there is a huge information gap between China and outside world, and this is also affects hospitality industry, so many hotel lovers from the western world don’t know anything about the hotels in China, tbh, you will find it’s a hidden gem and it has some of the best modern urban hotels with great design, and it’s cheap! You know for example Park Hyatt in Paris where I based, will cost you 1500 euro per night, but PH in Shenzhen and Shanghai only cost you 300 Euro but much better design, bigger rooms and better view, there are so many luxury hotels in the skyscraper allow you enjoy the panoramic views, of course for the historical reasons, unlike China, most luxury hotels in Europe are built in old buildings while Chinese hotels always built in a very modern newly-built high-rise building, plus the cost of living is very different, all of these factors are contributing to the reason why Hotel in China always has the best value. Anyway you really got a great taste, and I think we are like-minded people as I’ve been to most of the hotels that you are planning to go! Enjoy your hotel visit in China and look forward to seeing your videos!

  @@GlennTedja I could give you my taste but these would predominately locate in the city as opposed to resorts: Before the list, a tip to you is newer is always better than older properties, better choose a hotel that opened within 8 years. Beijing: Mandarin Oriental( one of the expensive boutiques hotel as it only has 72 rooms), Bulgari, Rosewood, Puxuan. Shanghai: Park Hyatt, Bulgari, Edition( never choose standard room, suite would be much better for Edition), Peninsula, Regent( just opened last month), W, Bellagio，The middle house, Capella, MGM. and to be fair I personally don’t recommend you to J hotel as it’s not that good and so many hotel lovers in China don’t like that. Guangzhou: Four Seasons, Rosewood, Mandarin Oriental Shenzhen: Park Hyatt, Andaz, Mandarin Oriental, Nanshan Shangri-La ( Just opened last month!), Raffles Suzhou( very close to Shanghai) : Four Seasons, Park Hyatt, Kimpton. Nanjing: Ritz Carlton( The world best urban Ritz Carlton) , Andaz, Jumeriah Hangzhou: Park Hyatt, Conrad Xiamen: Qishang, Waldorf Astoria( the most beautiful WA in the world!) ,Conrad, W, Andaz HK: Rosewood( the best rosewood in the world), St-Regis, Regent, The Upper House, Mandarin Oriental Landmark, Four Seasons, Peninsula. Macau: Ritz Carlton, Londoner I could give you some tips on the selection of the room for the above hotel if you would like to have Enjoy!

  @@qicui9461 It's such a huge injustice. I had a feeling the hotels in China are extremely underrepresented in the Western world and your comments have confirmed that. I absolutely cannot wait to visit now and I think my trip just extended from 2 weeks to close to a month thanks to you. It'll be a great excuse to brush up on my Mandarin. While I do want to visit some of these luxury hotels in Europe, I can't justify paying $2k+ for a night when I know I can spend that much money and stay almost a week at some of the hotels you mentioned, which look more stunning as well. So excited!!!
