Automobile circuits usually fail at the ground path. Solution: run a dedicated ground. Parallel ground circuits in automotive DC are not a problem. It's amazing how quickly and cheaply they can cure issues.

Been to a few of these events! It takes forever to get a class of them pulled, and there's 4 to five classes. Bunches of kids on same one. Only 2 classes that's fun to watch and one has souped up Kohler type motors in it and a 4 cyclinder class running pinto and geo 3 cyclinder motors. They are stretched out running big tires, and car rearends, some little diesel motors, seen them on dirt and on asphalt where they put 4x4 oak post under sled, some go fast enough to make 4x4 smoke. Lol. Those regular ones are just plain boring to me! They showed up at a antique tractor pull we did a few times, cost a $1000 for the bunch to show up plus sled and took hours, up into the evening to get them run off cause there so slow!
@geared4torque9893 күн бұрын
@ricksmith1527 yeah they can be slow. But it's a cheap way to get the kids involved. I haven't competed in a while. We pull for fun. It's a run what ya brung. Some guys use it as a test and tune for their competition.

Hey i have a question for you, if you know what are the advantages/disadvantages of diesel in a pulling tractor
@geared4torque98912 күн бұрын
I haven't noticed a difference between the two. It mostly comes down to weight, traction, gearing. I would avoid hydrostatic rear ends. However I've seen some good pullers with hydrostatic. I've seen a predator 212 on a sears suburban beat a 50 hp cub. Once you get the right combination on a strong Tractor, the hp don't matter too much.

In 1067 when the 10.5 in tires became available pullers were getting the ag. tires and i got a set of 10.5 in. terf tires and hand cut every other row of tread out. Lot of work but i won a lot of trophies against pullers with ag. tires. I always felt the reason for this the ag. tires dug up more dirt when spinning than my tires which piled up against the sled making it harder to pull. You say you are balanceing your tires but the angle of the tread on your tires are both pushing your tractor the same way. I think you need to turn one tire 180 degrees so they don't both try to push the rear of your tractor the same way. When looking at the back of the tractor your tire treads should make a V to counter act each tires side force when spinning. A lot of tread isn't your friend when pulling on dirt. Look how they have very little tread on the tires of the pros high H.P. high wheel speed tractors.
