Lol vibrato or not is up to the player. If one likes the straight German/Austrian style then ok but I personally like more flexible and singing tone. One of my favorite players is Reginald Kell so go figure.

TO RİCARDO GOMEZ: Hi Dear Gomez, Actually I dont know any companies that would let you rent the parts of the concerto, they mostly sell them to the customers however, in my country which is Turkey, we have the parts in some state orchestra's libraries, unfotunately it is forbidden to give you a copy of the concerto without the permission of the real company that they bought the concerto parts from. So the best solution would be trying to find a company to buy the parts from or search for an orchestra that has it in its library and could give you a copy with or without permission.. I wish I could help you more. Regards and loves from İstanbul/TURKEY... =)

Hello Mr. Karabacak, I was wondering if you could point me to the right direction. We are looking for a rental company that would rent us the Orchestra parts and Conductor score for Eugène Bozza's Concerto for Clarinet and Chamber Orchestra. Do you happen to know this? Thanks in advance!

This is really nice, thanks. I couldn't listen to the professional discs shared in KZread of this piece. I'm not a clarinettist (and I don't play anything any more), but I was thinking it must be one of the very hardest pieces to pull off, with soloist and orchestra together, making good musical sense, getting the real spirit and bones of the piece. It changes nearly every 2nd bar, by so much. I played in a student string orchestra once this, violin, and I think it nearly killed me. I think I concluded that it took so much out of me I'd never be able to play in it again. I think that was rather accurate. It was not a conservatory student orchestra, but at university with nearly all players students neither of performance nor music. So we had most of a term to get it together, unlike conservatory orchestras, I guess which would only have a few rehearseals. It's so hard to make sense out of it. It feels like a big monster that chops its jaws at you while you get to grips with it, then you gain a better idea of the musical sense (which is always so demanding, it never lets up, much more than technical demands). Then, just when you think you've an idea of the piece, it tends to eat you anyway. But it is gorgeous music, in ways. Sad, kind of horrible and sad while gorgeous, much of it. This was a really sympathetic performance from the orchestra - they did very well indeed, and the solo was excellent. There's so much going on, and I suppose it must be hard for the clarinetist wondering if he / she should kind of direct or fit in with the orchestra, and at many points whether or not to give up how they have rehearsed / interpreted in privately in practise. It's kind of a funny, piece, which taunts & beckons & challenges performers like Mount Everest taunts & beckons & challenges climbers. But it's also a bit of a trick - it can seem easy or straightforward when it's far from that. Yet, you have to keep simple in ways.

How do you know that Finzi would flip if he heard vibrato on the clarinet when playing his concerto? That is a ridiculous statement. It is purely your opinion. I personally don't like vibrato on the clarinet, but to go to the extreme of saying that "fine art" shouldn't be performed with vibrato on the clarinet is not your place to say.
