Boating through southwest Florida and exploring the Caribbean. For 15 years pre-covid we (Crystal & Ryan, Hi!) traveled the islands, sipped rum, and took you along on the journey. After covid stopped our travel content, we bought a boat (Castaway) and tried to keep the salty lifestyle going here in southwest Florida. Three months later we got hit by Hurricane Ian and Castaway was destroyed. Crystal and I kept the boating dream alive and bought Crystal Blu, a 2018 Sea Hunt 235 Ultra. Now you'll find boating videos of Crystal Blu exploring the waterways around Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel, Captiva, Lover's Key, Cayo Costa and other local spots. We still toss in trips to the Caribbean when we can as well. Subscribe if you are looking for fun and informative videos about boating and living in an island paradise. Cheers!

Thanks for your videos! We are fairly new to boating in Fort Myers and have used this video as a guide to get us to Coya Coasta. It is now my favorite beach! The Tina Marie (Fellow Sea Hunt boat owner)
Hi, thanks! Yeah we love that beach, just an amazing paradise up there. Stop by if you see us up there, always happy to meet a fellow Sea Hunt people!
I grew up there in englewood I’ve seen many tarpon caught but never caught one myself Florida has so much fishing to offer my favorite fish to caught are snook
Yeah, they are all around for sure. I haven't hooked into one yet either, but it will happen!
Do yourself a favor and try ne corner of captiva pass
It is a sight to behold to see the magnificent schools of Tarpon rolling through the pass. Very fascinating experience to witness their annual migration. Thank you for featuring this spectacular event.
Our pleasure! It was a great day on the water!
Where is this?
Content Keys, Florida Keys
Such destruction
It was pretty bad.
I don't think that stretch of sand would even qualify as a "beach" for the purposes of this survey.
So peaceful, and there’s something about slow motion rain! Thanks☀️
Thanks!
Still a shithole...serving British food
It's a great option, but I think I'll just keep flying my airplane down one hour and 15 min from Tampa. 115 trips over 24 years and often as a day trip leave by 9am and back to Tampa by 5pm. Key West were the rules just don't apply. Fly Fast and Live Slow!
Amen, good for you man. I bet that's a great flight. Pick me up some time and rounds are on me! Cheers
I disagree. Have you been to Port Charlotte "beach"? I used to go there as a kid and it is the worst! Much rather go to Boca Grande or Manasota Key.
I haven't, will have to check it out. Love the Manasota Key and Boca area though.
Hi. Can anyone repair this beach? If you were born there or live there, could you cleaning it up in some way? I used to lived in Florida. I saw a lot of people clean up the beaches.
Grew up in Port Charlotte area and their public beach and fishing pier the worst small sharp conch shells cut up your feet and water the color of root beer.
Good to know!
The beach is not as bad as your stunningly boring video with it's sapid, fruity soundtrack!
Don’t forget the fecal matter!
No bueno!
Lee County Florida has been the best place in South Florida since the 80s . This is the river, not the Gulf.
Never said it wasn't. It's a beach, in the area, just want people to know the good ones and the the...eh, let's go somewhere else ones.
Try Cayo Costa and Boca Grande
@@edjackson4986 we go there a lot. Paradise. You can our Cayo video here. Ultimate Memorial Day Weekend Sandbar Party To Cayo Costa Island! kzread.info/dash/bejne/o6plt5h6YbzapdI.html
Ahoy, @kenossowicz1280 is the commenter that was randomly selected to receive free Castaway koozie and sticker. Thank you all!
2:50 - On the right is a blue tent. Across the street is the location shown in the well-known video of the storm surge submerging this area and destroying the red house from which a man and woman and their dogs amazingly managed to survive. The power pole that the camera was attached to is just to the left of the parked white pickup truck. A little above that pole and to the left are the three small palm trees that stood next to the driveway of the parking lot that's now covered with sand; they are shown in the video totally underwater as waves pass over them. The few remnants of the first floor of the vanished red house are right in the center of this view. If you haven't seen the video I'm talking about, search for it. It goes on for hours and shows the entire passage of the worst part of the hurricane.
I've seen it many times. Unbelievable stuff.
I’ve lived in Cape Coral since 1982 and I can’t disagree. I don’t think I’ve ever actually swam in that water.
Cheers!
Hey! You were the one that was randomly selected to get a free Castaway koozie and sticker. Thanks! Email me at [email protected] and I'll get them in the mail to you. Cheers!
And I would give anything to be able to live anywhere near there! 😭
Tarpon Bay has showers and restrooms. Also, a parking lot is available 1 block north at the stop signs
Thanks for the tip!
Nokomis Beach is better.
lol, well of course it is! That's a stunning Gulf beach. This, not so much.
Went there in March , nice little beach , you guys are nuts !!!
lol, just saying it doesn't compare to any other area beaches quality wise. Brown water, man made. I'd rather go to the real thing.
I don't think so Tim 😞
Defiantly Yacht Club Beach, 2nd only because of how crowed it can get with Pubic access. Lighthouse Beach Park on south end of Sanibel.
Yeah, we had to wait for parking plenty of times at Lighthouse beach. Just have to be patient....island time and all. 😉
Can I get that used oil 🛢, thanks
I don't know what that means.
@@CaribbeanCastaways I service the used oil for salty Sam's marina
The whole point of the beach is that it is accessible without an hour's drive to get to Venice or FMB. It's like putting a Sea Hunt boat in the middle of Boston Whalers, Valhallas, and Grady Whites (choose your favorite high end brands.. whatever). The Sea Hunt might be the worst boat of the bunch, but it's still a boat; it still gets you on the water; and it's way more accessible to more people.
Sanibel beaches and Fort Myers aren't and hour. Maybe for two weeks at the height of season, but like 20min on average. But I do see your point.
Good guy
Agreed!
Calling a flag on the play here - Illegal Procedure! Its a river beach...not on the Gulf. Not meant to be a resort or touristy beach, just a local spot. And the Boat House Tiki next door is awesome. I go to FMB regularly, have never hung out at the Yacht Club Beach but you need to be fair about it.
lol, thanks! We do love the Boat House, that video is coming soon. Might be a man made river beach, but it's still a beach. And the worst in the area. Not sure why people go here.
You are 100% correct. The river is dark on account of the natural tannins in Florida fresh water estuaries. The Lake O releases certainly do not help the situation. It's a great beach if you don't want to fight the traffic and crowds of FMB or the Sanibel beaches. Is it equivalent to a North Captiva beach? Absolutely not. But it's great in a pinch if you want a quick hit to a beach.
@@CaribbeanCastawaysNot sure why you are there telling people not to go there. Hope you don't ever come back to SWFL. You are the definition of a douche bag.
@@CaribbeanCastawayssouth florida is one big water filter..everglades being an example..tannins from pines color the water...
All of Lee County Florida is still a disaster and they have had nearly 2 years since Hurricane Ian to clean up and rebuild. Thank you for warning people!
It's not all a disaster. It's come a long ways. Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel are doing great. Sure some things still need work. But it's so much better and getting better every day.
Hope you leave ASAP
Can a drone fly over people? My favorite drone channel was fined and had so many videos removed😢. He was SWFL KZreadr. Great video and info, TY both. And those hurricane cut sabel palms do look out of place. The new Florida baloney that coconut palm trees aren't native and have to be removed (or not planted) is ridiculous . Miami Beach is in the process of removing their coconut palms.😢 Thailand tsunami: only trees left Coco Nociferous!
I'm sure there's some distance restriction. I always stay well away from people .
Coconut palms are my favorite.
Yes that is the worst beach Cape Coral
For sure!
I've stayed there multiple times. Literally footsteps from the beach. This absolutely breaks my heart.
Yeah, they still have done anything with it. Terrible
@@CaribbeanCastaways I feel so sad about this. The last time I was there, there was a crane (the bird) that made itself at home in Pinchers. I even have pictures. I haven’t been there since the pandemic, but I have so many great memories and some AMAZING pictures.
I guess I can agree it's the worst beach in Lee County. Even so, it's still a great beach. We moved to the Cape the year KCs Riverstop was built which is now The Boathouse. You can complain about the color of the water but it's the same as any freshwater lake in FL, not to mention Fort Myers beach when they flush the big lake.
One beach has to be the worst, this is an easy call. Not sure why someone would just drive 15 min to a great beach.
@@CaribbeanCastaways free parking and 5 minutes from the house and...The Boathouse for lunch. The free parking will be coming to an end soon though. The city is ruining that with its rebuild.
Thanks for showing us the worst beach in SWFL~we would have to agree! Fake for sure. 😂
My pleasure.
I’ve been going to The FL panhandle for over 25 years. Then we went to Ft. Myers Beach a few years ago. Didn’t care for it.
Yeah, fort Myers beach has its good days and bad due to the river. Sanibel, Captiva, and Lovers Key are better beaches when it comes to the water.
I would totally agree with you.The water north is beautiful compared to southwest florida. Most of the problem is the river that that empties into the gulf.I talked to many old timers that have lived here forever and they told us way back in the day the water was crystal clear.Lake O has really caused all the blight you see in this area
Oh my. Sorry. The water does Not look like tea to me. Was there a sewage line break, perhaps? You two are such a beautiful and honest couple exposing the worst beach. You did it with style and exceptional charm. I hope the Club will be kind although I have found Clubs seldom are when their underbelly is openly exposed😊 Oops. Please let me add my opinion of the best place to be in FL. How wonderful for all who will never travel to the best place if you two could make a vid of the three beaches' activities and the places to stay and the food available. A lovely weekend for a lovely couple, You Two! I just found you and will Subscribe and Share and Explore your Channel today. Of course you know all the following but I'm campaigning for a Vid to be treasured! Please go to Clearwater for a lovely beach location experience and send us the joy❤ by vid. And 2.2 miles away is the best of the best reached only by walking from Clearwater Beach or by Ferry. Take the ferry! Please do. For everyone, Caladesi Island State Park,in Dunekin, a luxurious picnic, a breezy sunny day with a great week weather forecast around mid-September and loved ones around [and an engagement ring found in a seashell? oh,my] and this Park will knock WV off the #1 spot for "Almost Heaven." Or go fishing. Or a hop and jump is Honeymoon Island, public, lovely and perfect for families. Love you, John Denver❤ and West Virginia, Mountain Mama; but you missed out on Caladesi, FL "Beach Bliss," and there's No Gators! Research online. You don't lie about Gators, sneaky dinosaurs. Thank you, lovely couple, for joining me with my morning tea making it so interesting, I watched 3×. My Chi ignores You Tube as I use my phone for viewing the vids and he prefers a larger screen, yet he was charmed by your laughter and ate his sardine and rice with eyes glued to your marvelous vid❤ Great Team!
Thank you! Not sewage, just river water and sometimes Lake O discharges.
Bunche can be totally nasty …. Unless you like to find crown conchs in green gunk.
This is true. Bunche has its good days and bad days.
Still better than the beaches in Missouri. 😔
Ozarks are fun though!
@@CaribbeanCastawaysThat’s true.
Hey guys! The worst beach I found so far is we stayed at a hotel in Marathon, Fl. The beach, well was pretty awful. There was barely any sand, there was junk like bottles and cans in the water on the side of the hotel. When I mean the worst, the sand was so rough I needed shoes to walk on it. It almost felt like sand paper. lol 😂very disappointing beach. Anyways I hope you both are well and I enjoy your videos. ❤
That does sound bad! The keys definitely aren't known for their beaches! Thank you!
Morning yall. You're right its not the greatest beach, if it wasnt for the lake O water releases, the water would be green. I have to correct you on ths miserable mile. Its not actually the slow zone at shell point/little shell. Its the channel that starts at marker 99 and runs in front of picnic island. Its called that because of how narrow the channel is and bardges ran aground quite often. But the slow zone at shell point is miserable!!!!!
Thanks, yeah not a fan of those lake releases. I thought the miserable mile was the fast narrow area at picnic and the slow zone by Shell Point? All miserable!
@@CaribbeanCastaways they should rename it the 2 miserable miles.....
Looks like Oklahoma lake water!
I'm sure your lake water is better than this beach!
Love her local knowledge as so many people are transplants in that area. I do hope the yacht club comes back bigger and better as that is an important area for the city. Another good video.
Thank you! lol, yeah Crystal loves her fun facts!
Those beaches look amazing!
They are!
Remember what Ft Myers Beach looked like 2 years ago after Ian?
I do. I helped rebuild our marina.
@@CaribbeanCastaways We live in Ft Myers my husband works out by the beach, what a mess it was,is.
