It goes without saying that Charlie was lucky that the Quest family found him when they did, Because with the ship abandoned and the monster on board there are various ways that Charlie could've died. Apart from getting killed by the monster, Charlie would've eventually froze to death in the ice box and with nothing but rice and fortune cookies left Charlie would've also ran out food and eventually starved to death. In fact it really bugs me that the ships crew just left Charlie for dead, I mean It could be that the reason why they did it is maybe Charlie was hiding in the ice box while the crew was preparing to abandon ship and they cleaned out the kitchen, Charlie was probably still hiding from the monster and it's because of that the crew most likely assumed that Charlie was dead...At least that's my theory.

Yeah, The captain may have said that bullets have no effect on the monster but that doesn't mean the monster is immune to death. Because there are other ways that they could've killed it and fire did indeed seem to be the monsters greatest weakness for it is a fact that absolutely no living thing is immune to fire. I mean the flames from the torches that Dr. Quest and Race used may not have been hot enough to set the creature on fire, But imagine if they had an actual flamethrower they could've easily burned the monster alive until there was nothing left but it's skeleton.

You basically saw the end here: Charlie hit the lookout tower with a harpoon, while the monster was on it... the tower crashes, the monster goes into the sea, and continues swimming down and was never seen again.

I gave up on it as a kid when in one episode, Jana of the Wonder Twins turned into a mouse. When found by Batman, he offered her a ride in the "Bat Mouse Carrying Compartment" on his utility belt. I think I was 9 years old when I called BS on that and never watched SF again.

Charlie helped MAKE this episode. I often thought he would have made a nice addition to the Quest team. He just jumped in like he had always been there and the team functioned as though he always had been.

They should have hired Charlie to join the Quest team.
This was the last episode of " the real" Jonny Quest but it would have beem appropriate to add Charley as a character .
I mean, they could have hired him offscreen or at least offer him work. It doesn’t help this was the last episode of the original series.
Charlie helped MAKE this episode. I often thought he would have made a nice addition to the Quest team. He just jumped in like he had always been there and the team functioned as though he always had been.
