It’s a shame they knocked the old grand hotel down. I stayed there for a holiday with a girlfriend in the early 1960s. It was a lovely hotel. I have been to Sandown three times Don’t think I will be able to return the age Of 80 great video lovely to see the place again

This brings back happy memories.
Brilliant…such fond memories. I visited Blackgang many, many times, first when I was a kid, then with my kids (now grown up). The fairy tree house with this music was always a must-see, together with the pet shop and the creepy mansion.
Freedom, Gravity, SRN6... these were the days; as a kid watching them for days on end.

Went to Southsea every year as a youngster. It' has obviously changed very much now. The Clarence Pier area where lots of coaches would park up. The Pompey Corporation Trolley buses that I loved, gone now, as in my old home town of Reading. Have walked that walk many a time but maybe in sections. Remember cutting across Elm Grove from digs to the seafront. I hold Portsmouth & Southsea close to my old heart.

I'm an American. I gre up traveling to the IOW most summers to see my grandparents in Ventnor. I miss my aunt in Shanklin and the Island dearly.
Good to see Regent Street at the start of your walk. Shanklin is still one of the best coastal towns on the Island and fortunately still has a reasonable main street with most of the shops you'd need. ... Very nice!

I stayed in the grand hotel in the early 1960s it was great then it’s a shame to see what it looks like now in 2024 I know it has been demolished and Sandown has certainly changed
