What if my compressor clicks on and off. It runs for a few seconds and clicks off for a few minutes. It’s also wicked hot! Is it worth trying this or considering the compressor a loss??

Great video. We were overseas and our dryer went out on our daughter. We were gone for 1 week out of a 6 month trip when it happened. I ended up buying a new Amana from Lowes to get a working dryer again. We just returned and the new Amana just started not drying. It worked for less than 4 months, Amana is sending out a repairman. The old Roper is in my basement. They kept for me to look at when I returned. With the new dryer acting up, I decided to see what was wrong with the old Roper. I have checked everything you mentioned except for the voltage at the wall. It all checks out fine. The issue is it will stop drying after 5 minutes or so. I am leaning towards the timer being the issue and possibly corrosion in the contacts. There was a decent amount of lint in the upper area near the timer. If the contacts are dirty this might be the issue.. Any thoughts?

Went through all the steps , got continuity on all points. Assumed motor was burned out. Plugged it back in pulled off the start knob by accident pushed the protruding pin and she fired up 😅. Stuffed a little piece of tin foil in the start knob cavity to take up extra space and the dryer works like day one. Oh well, at least I learned what to look for in the future. Video deserves multiple thumbs up

Thanks. I had a guy replace my belt(s) and it still didn't work (although no burning rubber smell, they did need change). Was kinda upset, but this looks easy - will give it a shot. I'm not mad at him, but he shoulda waited longer and ran it thru the cycles though.

So I got a question and your video was the closest I could find that showed any type of help. So washer stopped working, no power, ended up being control board. Repair man came out and replaced the control board, said it didnt work he then said i had to get a new washer. but when i looked into it he hooked it up all wrong. After I hooked it up correctly it started working. Ran a quick cycle to test it out and half way through it stopped working again and once again now power. After testing around it was that fuse that is blown. While it looks fairly easy to replace that fuse, something keeps blowing it, and I dont know where else to look. There are not any youtube video with this issue on my washer and the internet isnt really helping, just says replace the control board. but if it has blown two fuses, then its pointless to replace unless i can determin where the issue is coming from. Any suguestions? Whirlpool WFW5620HW0 4 years old

Hi there. This is what I have, does it indicate a bad relay? Whirlpool WRT111SFDW03. 7 years old. 11.2 cu ft size. Freezer on top. Start relay P/N: WPW10448874, aka W10448874. Capacitor ("cap") P/N: WPW10662129 Test relay connections with capacitor on the relay. Results: when together I can get cap to charge and discharge thru the start relay, just like it does when it's off the relay. With cap off and on, neither of the lower holes have continuity with each other. The hole on lower left has 0.0 ohms resistance thru the bottom blade of the back of the plug. The lower right hole has no continuity with anything but can be used to charge the capacitor for testing. The upper hole has 0.1 ohm resistance to the top blade on the opposite side. Remove relay cover and visually check. I cannot get combination relay apart without breaking it, so I haven't committed to that, yet. Ohm test the fridge compressor pins again. Make sure the Common (top) and lower pins are within 3 ohms. And the two pins at bottom should read about the sum of the Common with the Start and Run pins. See KZread video... Results: Top and Lower Right : 4.4 ohm. Top to Lower Left: 6.0 ohm. Two bottom pins: 10.4 ohm. None of the pins are shorted to ground. My problem is it suddenly stopped cooling without noises or warning, but I caught it from hearing loud buzzing noise from compressor and relay area, and compressor was very hot. No smoke or smells though, and wires did not seem to be hot. Do you think it's the combination relay? Thank ya!

The cycling thermostat is the one next to the thermal fuse. It has 4 wires. The thermostat by the heater terminals is a high limit thermostat and only cycles if the cycling thermo fails to open.

My Miele W5872 111 edition has a little oscillation of the inner drum, just milimeters. I mean it does not run 100% parallel to the outer drum and the rubber seal (does not touch it anyway), but has no weird spin noises at all and no vertical or horizontal movement if you try to pull or push, there is no looseness, it is just like if the drum is slightly distorted, but works perfectly. Does this have any sense? If it's the damm spider, how much time can take to get destroyed? I've done a total flush 95ªC with vinegar and baking soda to remove any soap or mold rest and always keep the door open after each cycle.

I have checked everything and continuity and resistance checkout. I have voltage at the main cable. Thermostat, fuse, temp select switch are all functioning correctly. It still feels like the dryer is not getting hot enough. Could it be the heating element that needs to be replaced?
