avalon instruments

This is the channel of Avalon Instruments, producers company of precisions telescope mounts, tripods for astrophotographers and astroamateurs.
Here we will pubblish video realized with our instruments to show the amazing result that is possible to achieve using our mounts and accessories.
Our mounts was born to revolutionize the world of amateur astronomy with tre principle pulley-tooth belt with an attractive Made in Italy design.
Our mounts are based on motion transmission technology with pulley-tooth belt without play, this makes easier the imaging at the meridian crossing regardless the typical problem affecting the classic German Equatorial Mounts, for both the risk of touching the tripod and the need of waiting for the object cross the meridian.

    EKOS is a software for the complete management of the Astrophotography setup. It just requires a small learning curve ... this video has the purpose to shows how it is possible to easily control everything in less of three minutes.

    @@avaloninstruments True, EKOS is very powerful and allows any device that has an INDI driver. Is it easy to use? No. Only after you have figured out tons of menus and sub menus. The polar alignment assistant is absolutely great. Is it intuitive? Not, really. The autofocus takes forever to figure out until it works smoothly. Yes, I use EKOS. Would it be my first choice? No.

    I use the PAA in EKOS every time I am setting up my M-Uno. It’s relatively straightforward. The rest of EKOS needs a lot of reading and watching tutorials. It’s not intuitive, which is pretty counter productive in today’s world of apps. Yes. Once you figured out all the settings it does a decent job.

  • @avaloninstruments
    @avaloninstruments2 жыл бұрын

    Hello In order to perform the synchronization with the sky, since the mount alignment procedure (Sync Home Position) is not available on SkySafary and on other planetary app, Avalon Instruments developed a solution that can be adopted by following the step explained below: - Soon after the connection with SkySafary, choose a star close to the Southern Meridian and to the Horizon, then perform a Sync on it, without move the mount from his Celestial Pole pointing. In this way the StarGo use the Star position as a Sync Home Position and not as an Align. Please let us know if in this way you are able to control the mount, otherwise we are available for a remote desktop session to help you.

I mean for the 25kg show, would I be able to load Astro gear up to 12.5kgs to obtain the best performance? Or has this been considered... the 25kgs is a good number but if I have to half this I would have to go to a bigger option. Can you share more Tech details? Thanks

  • @avaloninstruments
    @avaloninstruments3 жыл бұрын

    Avalon single arm mount, has been designed to be balanced without counterweights or with a small amount of weight. This can be possible thanks to the DEC arm position placed below the RA top axis, having at the same time the possibility to move it up and down in several positions. That’s why the recommended payload can be higher then half. Furthermore, there are also users that achieved good results with setup higher then the mount stated payload capability, as it is possible to read on several reviews available on the web.

    @@JethroXP further then dimensions, another difference between M-uno and M-zero is that on the smaller mount, is it possible to move the DEC arm in 6 position toward the RA axis by reversing the lateral L brackets, as you can see on the following gif www.avalon-instruments.com/images/prodotti/m-zero/m-zero-equatorial-mount-6-position.gif and on the M-zero User manual page 21. www.avalon-instruments.com/support-2/support/file/39-m-zero-user-manual-2-0-4 Also on the M-due will be possible to reverse the L lateral brackets.
