    Have 22mm on an older Grand Seiko and its probably a little too much, but it's also a big case for a dressy watch. I will wear it today and scrutinise. 22mm+ on dive watches is great. Some would definitely be better with 23mm though!

    Nice watch definitely ; ) I was tempted by one of the new ones and the introduction of the 39 was a curve ball size wise. @@wristopia4101 Yep the old bracelet is better. I have two 22mm LW on my radar now, the new Davosa Ternos 68H and the even newer Venezianico Aureo. @@InsaneFame Yay, thanks. Really great to get that feedback ; ) I will check those two out now. I noticed I lost a Sub after this video! There is a weird dislike of better watch design for some reason haha. 20mm is great for smaller cases, but just looks odd on a lot of medium to larger ones these days IMO. Micro brands just look plain cheap with 20mm. It stands out like a sore thumb when the watch they are faking is 21mm. I have kind of given up on 20mm now. I have an Erebus Assent on its way but that will be the last time I compromise unless I get a pre owned Henry Archer (long story).

    It's stunning and arguably Rolex's finest sports watch. It's nearer 38mm, while the 36mm is nearer 35mm and looks like a kids watch it's so dainty. I was fortunate enough to visit an AD in Macau of all places who had the Explorer 1 40mm in stock. No silly games or "due to unprecedented demand"... I bought it there and then. If you want to avoid the stupid AD games, go to small, but high volume tourist cities and visit ADs there. A portion of their stock will be allocated to walk ins, because of tourism. Also avoid ADs that are part of a large group like Watches of Switzerland if you want to avoid the famous games they play.

  • @wristopia4101
    @wristopia410112 күн бұрын

    Yes, I was disappointed it is not 40mm but I did not notice in the AD and I love it anyway. I have had very good results fro WoS Group (Goldsmiths), but also from a small UK independent. I went to Hawaii last year but did not bother asking or visit both AD's. I was a bit worried about buying abroad and UK situation is working out fine for me, but good advice.

  • @liquid_metal

    @@wristopia4101 being sub 40mm means it fits more wrists. The 36mm is so diminutive I was actually shocked when I saw it. It looks a lot bigger photographed or in a KZread video. Fair point about buying abroad, but ultimately if it's an AD and they're on the Rolex website, Rolex would have a legal obligation to rectify any issues if you couldn't easily visit the AD again. That's the whole point of an authorised dealer network.

    Bit of an update to try to justify broadcasting my feelings on CW Sellors/Jura. Tried to buy a Sinn wall clock advertised on their site at £290, but they took ages to tell me it was actually about £390 and that they would not honour the web price. Then I ordered (paid for) a ladies Invicta. It (and every one in that range) had pictures of two different dials on the website, something I have never seen before........Ever. I love the look of chronographs but I refuse to buy one. Because you’re right, there’s no functional application for me (or anyone in 2024). I lean more into gmt and dual time (also world time) and calendars. Maen makes cool Lille 36mm triple calendar that looks like a chrono. It has three dials to display month, day, date.
