    For me its Wide ruled: for note-taking that requires me to have abstracted information due to professors changing slides quickly, or terms/dates/items I have to write about in my own interpretations. Also for daily personal tasks like grocery lists/journaling etc due to comfort. I believe there is a lot less eye strain ( im also convinced that wide ruled paper notebooks sold in my area tends to feel softer/smother which makes me WANT to write) College ruled: for classes that require mostly definitions/terms, or LOOOOOOONG essays/paragraphs, or classes that have a professor that teaches at a slower pace so i have more time to accommodate squeezing my large, spider-y handwriting into a smaller form factor. (I do get more hand cramps with college ruled i will say. )

  • @ShannonMedisky
    @ShannonMedisky14 сағат бұрын

    Right?! The wide ruled also seems much more inviting if I have to draw diagrams or want to mind map my ideas. Couldn't agree more, too, WAY less hand cramping for me also. I think that's because there's simply more space to accommodate my natural handwriting style.

    I like to "laminate" my index cards by using clear packing tape on the front and back. I use pieces of tape slightly larger than the card and then trim with a scissors. It protects them from moisture and adds some stiffness.

    I have nothing to say but, WOW. You hit it girl. These all help me and I’ve been in and out of being numb since my twenties. It’s been life altering for sure. But to kick my butt into doing one loving thing for myself when I’m numb. I’m writing about simple things like, I brushed and flossed! My laundry is in some drawers. My kitchen dishes are done. I watched you! Any positive progress over perfection is the way! The other two are good choices. Harder for introverts and elderly people to connect. Another plus if you are the one reaching out to say hi and connect in some way you might have helped them in the process too! Thanks for some thoughtful help to add to our toolboxes as we navigate being human.

    What can i do with a index card spiral 3 section notebook? I found it at dollar tree. Need ideas.

  • @ShannonMedisky
    @ShannonMedisky15 күн бұрын

    Use it as an on-the-go grocery/meal index system! One section for easy meals you prepare regularly, one section for various side dishes, the last section could be a master list of ingredients you need to have on hand for all the various meals/recipes. Or, use it to divide various goals and projects in your life (such as a section for work, home, creative projects, and hobbies). You could also use it to keep track of books if you're a reader. One section for books you've read (and you could even rate the titles, too!). Another section for books you want to read. The last section could be books you'd recommend to others.) One final idea... use it as a growth mindset tool! Use the different sections to organize sayings and quotes that resonate with you by different topics such as failure/resilience, attitude/perspective, and confidence/self-worth. Hope at least *one* of those ideas 💡 resonates with you! 😀

To plan and organize, I use Google Sheets, and I write in Google Docs. So, essentially, I use Google Drive for everything, which is all FREE. I looked into Scrivener, Plottr, and even Notion, but decided that the learning curve was too high for me. (I'd rather spend the time on my projects!) I also decided to save the money to put elsewhere (such as paying my beta readers)! Let me know if you'd like a video on how exactly I use Google Drive. :) 😀 But for now, I hope that helps!

    @@ShannonMedisky Thank you so much! I sincerely appreciate your thoughts and advice! I didn't even think of Grammarly and I hate to admit it, but I'm totally unfamiliar with Google Drive, Google Sheets, and Google Docs. You're so nice to offer, but I know you're terribly busy so I won't ask for a special video. However, I will definitely look into each of those you mentioned. I'm always interested in learning about any writing or artistic processes used by others. Thanks again!

    Great tips! I've learned to the hard way to grab a cart right away only to see that item in someone else's cart-ugh! So smart to shop items on sale/clearance. I enjoy thrifting- always fun "hunting" for treasure! You always have great tips using thrift finds. I don't like garage sales for the same reason. I'm so unnerved by sellers watching me, and then I feel bad cause I don't buy anything. Thank you for sharing!

    Ha! So glad I'm not alone on the garage sale thing. Yeah, I feel like the people running the sale are watching me "judging" their stuff. (I'm, of course, *not* doing that. But I sure worry they're thinking that! lol)

    How exciting! Congratulations on finishing your rough draft and getting back to drawing. I'm sorry about the possible future of your husband's job. Smart move to be preparing for that possible outcome now. While, I'm not a writer, I'm sure your process would be a great help to others by sharing I would love to see how you organize your art supplies and planners (if you have any tips on using washi tape. I realized using in my planner is too busy. I'd like to use them in other ways if possible). Thank you for sharing.

    Thanks for the encouragement. I'm trying to let my excitement over finishing the first book push me toward the second book in the series. (I'm currently writing chapter 7 of the second book while beta readers are reading the first book.) Ooooh! Washi tape. I'm afraid I don't use that much. But I *love* how it looks. As always, thank you so much for watching!

    This issue goes across the entire school system. "No child left behind." "Everyone gets a trophy." They're passing kids who are failing. Illiterate kids graduating. Reading and math skills at a 3rd grade level in the 8th grade. They're setting these kids up for failure and they're not even special needs.

    You're absolutely right. Why does honest and real have to equate to mean and cruel? I'd argue that the opposite is true. Yet when we REQUESTED with letters from our sins pediatrician and his pediatric neurologist to have him held back in the 5th grade, we were shot down. Now look where we are, where HE is. [SMH]
