    Can't you find ANY sandpaper that is finer than 36-80 grit? And, you don't anneal in water, use oil.

    So much is wrong in this video. Don't anneal the steel, you just made it super weak. It might be sharp but will loose its edge after 1-2 uses. Don't squish the jaws together in a vice, that's just going to crush any edge you create. You should use much finer grit sandpaper, 400 gritt would be a minimum, probably go 800-1000. No need to sand the inside of the edge. Finally your nails could really use a sharp nail clipper

    You can find replacement cords with plug everwhere for none to little money. I have a box full of old computer power cords, charging devices and all types of data cables, from RS232, VGA up to network patchcables or USB. It's easier to replace than to repair as in most cases it's easier to connect the replacement at the device end just with terminal screws or WAGOs. And ... you have to take into account that some strands inside the plug are broken, too. In the end such broken plugs are a total write off.
