    Yeah the 1/2 is great. I end up using a 3/8 adapter on it most of the time, tho. Depends on what size sockets you use most, but the 3/8 is probably more versatile.

    For the price of the Koshi carbon panels. It should be like for like and a straight forward fit. I bought the Koshi dash for my abarth and nothing would align up. We had to use a lot of sealer and superglue to hold the vents in and one of the rings on the switch block. Your bonnet looks very nice.

    Hey thanks for the video. Only my hub boot needs replacing, can I change that without taking the whole axle out?

  • @BookAutowerks
    @BookAutowerks9 күн бұрын

    If you just want to replace the outer boot you'd need to take the axle nut off and slip it out of the hub, then use a forcing cone to get the new boot over the CV joint. The inner boots are the ones that have the most trouble on these cars, so it's really better to replace both.

    Do you recommend any other maintenance replacements while doing this job? Such as the multi air filter or anything else? Id like to do this and get anything other maintenance out of the way as well

  • @BookAutowerks
    @BookAutowerks19 күн бұрын

    yes, if you haven't done the multiair filter yet, doing it when you have everything apart for the timing belt is a great idea. If your motor mounts look worn, it would be a good time to do those as well.

    Not to mention gravity pulls dust to settle downward that design helps the filter stay cleaner longer by pulling air through tubes up through the bottom. Take that cap off and your filter will get dirtier a lot faster😊

  • @BookAutowerks

    Great point!

  • @ronhughley6510
    @ronhughley6510Ай бұрын

    No don't cut. Lol. It's set up a certain way for a reason, a dirty air filter will restrict. The filter is there to just keep particles or unwanted things from entering but it only needs to pull in so much air. Which is usually equivalent to what it's putting out

  • @ronhughley6510
    @ronhughley6510Ай бұрын

    It's only going to require so much are coming in think of it like an engine running at a certain RPM lower RPM less are higher RPM more are so it depends what that thing is putting out for what it requires to bring in

    If you use copper antisieze on the studs , they would have never backed out. Once it gets hot it crystallizes and is stronger than locktite. It can still be removed with tools but will never come out on its own.

    The adapter is killing the torque output. I bought the whole acdelco g12 line and I absolutely love them. They're dirt cheap and do their job well. Working on machinery all day the 3/8 impact, 1/4 impact driver, and 3/8 ratchet they've been great and have worked with alot of abuse for years. I also have a line of dewalt 20v tools and a Milwaukee fuel 3/8 impact. Its nice to have a light weight tool to use on smaller fasteners. Im going to buy another set for home use since the work stuff is covered in grease. The old earthquake xt 12v line from harbor freight and durofix g12 all use the same batteries.

    so why do people buy the expensive huge ones, when these do the job just fine?

  • @BookAutowerks
    @BookAutowerksАй бұрын

    If you're doing it professionally you want a machine that can run constantly. The cheaper ones usually only have a 30% duty cycle. That's perfectly fine for most DIY applications. There's also things to consider like maintenance and support. Lincoln and Miller have great support, but these cheap ones the only support you really have is Amazon's return policy (which is actually pretty good).

    Great video! My 500 Turbo is close to 100K miles and could probably use all of these serviced. Question: for the sparkplug seals, instead of using oil to lubricate before installation, how about a thin coating of silicone gasket sealant? Might help keep it sealed longer. Anyway, love my Fiat and will check out those T-shirts.

  • @BookAutowerks
    @BookAutowerks2 ай бұрын

    Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! You probably don't want to put sealant on them as that would glue them in place and make it difficult removing them the next time. The really don't need anything on them, but I like to lube them to ease assembly.
