At a MINIMUM, your ex-husband should have had to pay all court costs, your attorney's fees (since you only needed one due to his lies), your bond/bail money, and he should have had to spend exactly the same amount of time you spent in jail + one additional day for his lies. At an absolute bare minimum! I don't know how our legal system has gotten so messed up, and it horrifies me to think of all the innocent people in jail and all the guilty ones walking free.

I am so glad you left! It is called perjury when a person lies and makes up things under oath .He probably got away with perjury because he was a correctional officer. You had a great attorney . So glad you had the support of your coworkers, Margaret, and your sons. He is crazy and narcissistic . I can see why you get scare at times. He was probably going through withdraws and alcohol changes his brain. I hope he gets help. I hope he goes to jail. Joyce

One thing I’ve learned is to memorize some phone numbers! I have a couple weeks of summer break left and will make it a mission to memorize my three children’s numbers and when I succeed my sisters too. Thank you for sharing your journey!

Big ((((Hugs))) Kimbo. I've never been married, but have dealt with drinkers. So GLAD you were able to get away safely and decided to share your journey. This is SO important that I believe there are many more families broke apart over the last 10yrs. Some men now adays think they have been given the green light to become alpha males in the home. Bullies. Hate to say it or imagine it. My Mother divorced in the early mid 70's . Just think that's was the beginning of today's modern women. When we learned we could do it all, alone if need be. Praying for those going through things in the home. Praying for a end to Domestic Abuse. #nomore Also. Thank heavens for Crafting community. <3

Bless your heart Kim for sharing this. I helped a friend get out of a relationship and things don’t get better. The mental aspect of it is so hard. Praying for your sake he never tries to do anything else. I tell myself it’s better we don’t know what is going to happen in our life and yes we make it thru one way or another. And crafting helps! It’s my therapy. Hugs
