Love the light reflections!
in 20 years the P-51 Mustang will certainly be outdated and they will be flying jet aircraft, only
I know this joy very well. I've been up in four different Mustangs over the years; most of the flights were during the Madera Gathering of Warbirds in the '80s. The most recent was 20 minutes of dual instruction in a TF-51 last fall.
Wow that’s awesome, this one was not dual control so will have to fly again!!
How old is this video. CVN 71 is on deployment.
Just under a year old
That's at Palm Springs International Airport!I live there in the Coachella Valley! 😊
Yes, i wish i lived there rather than the wet UK
@@intheairwithpaul It gets brutally hot here though. Especially in August. But the P-51! Whatta beast! 😃
It costs something like a million dollars a day to operate one of these.
Yeah at $13-15 billion each, they gona be monsters!
The first time I saw an aircraft carrier. I was in Marine Bootcamp. I thought a huge build was being moved by the ocean. Could not believe how big it was.
Flew as a radar navigator (bombardier) in those many years ago. No such thing as a soft landing!
This BOAT has an Air Force larger than most Countries! It's something to think about! This is not a joke!
Fleet week dependents day cruise. Been there, done that on a different ship in San Francisco Bay.
we had one in Vancouver for Expo 86 , and i took a picture of it against the city . You have to look close to see it but it`s the size of some of the highrises behind it . And i don`t think it was there biggest but i remember them saying they had to take an ariel down to get it under the Lions Gate bridge .
Yeah... an entire airport just floated past you.
An entire Air Force just passed you!
Served on TR from 87-90
Welcome to reality, Paul.
4 1/2 acres of sovereign U.S. territory. Anywhere in the world you need it.
Gets small the more time u spend on her.
I'd love to have a look around her, I'm Ex Royal Air Force, we have nothing that big in the UK!
Big Love to San Diego and US Navy! Ex UKSF, spent time in NAB Coronado with our aquatic Brothers learning and Teaming. Shared beers, laughs and love for what we do! Brothers in Arms!
"That's what she said"!
The exclamation mark should be inside the quotations. *_"That's what she said!"_*
@@brianbassett4379 "Damn you are one fart smeller, sorry I meant smart feller!"
All the bleachers set up on the flight deck should generate a lot of curiosity. I wonder if that's some kind of dependents day cruise or a setup for an awards ceremony?
I think it was a dependents day cruise
It’s massive!!!!
The Big Stick!
Thanks mdear, that brought back some fond memories 😊
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Nice video Paul 👌 keep ‘em coming!
Aaaaaaah Accctivee Barrelroll!!
It's actually a Polish built Lim-2, with its original Klimov VK-1 engine, developed from the Rolls-Royce Nene.
You are correct.
This beautiful video is too short.
Sorry! This was a quick visit, maybe this year i'll be able to get more footage!
Original engine?
i’m not sure, i’ll try to find out
Nice, reminds me of my flight in a chipmunk from shoreham by the sea.
It's a beautiful plane to fly!
While in the air cadets in the late sixties we flew in chipmonks from Filton doing aerobatics over the Bristol channel .
Yes, i was in 2318 SQN and also flew as a cadet from Filton!!
@@intheairwithpaul I was in 2442 previously 37f Seamills we were known as f troop , an american comedy series .Those reserve pilots had a sense of humour if you were a rooky they would throw the plane around barrel rolls stall turns were their favourite there was a rumour one flew under the severn bridge .Theres no record of it though .
Yes, it took me back 50+ years when I was on 287 (4th Edinburgh) Squadron and at a Summer camp at Catterick we did aerobatics. I'll never forget my doing a loop in a Chippy.
@@martinslocombe2288 i knew the girl who flew under the bridge!!
Glad to see her back in the air, Paul.
Thanks Cat and I had a great flight yesterday with Paul Farmer, being taught by an Ex RAF Instructor who taught Instructors, Paul was the Chinook display pilot!! and displays Yak 50's is very handy. Day Job of Air sea rescue helicopter pilot isn't to shabby either ;)
Nice one, Paul.
Thanks Cat, the flying is a lot easier than Adobe Premiere!!!
