    Just curious to know why would you run a thermo that opens in the 70s to then the new one to open in the 80s which causes you car to run hotter.I would switch back to the 70 degree thermo as it opens a lot sooner and keeps your car cooler.

  • @downtheshedwithbyron
    @downtheshedwithbyron13 күн бұрын

    Good question man I did the change years ago and from memory it ran the engine at about 82ish once fulling open it flowed better dropping the temps down to 78 ish This summer I played around with the TD42 turbo thermostat which sits around 78

    I always thought if you pump the brake with bleeder open, that air could get sucked back in from bleed screw leaking - is this not the case?

  • @downtheshedwithbyron
    @downtheshedwithbyron14 күн бұрын

    It can but if you pull 1 of those bleed bottles apart youll see the hose is at the bottom and with a small amount of fuild in it air wont suck back up cool idea hey

    Do you have a video of jacking a CX7 onto four jack stands - that would make swapping tires really easy... I looked underneath but I could not identify good lifting points to get four jack stands setup. Also got to replace the prop shaft soon, then it would really help!

I have got to the stage of refilling with water and draining again to clear out the flush cleaner but I can only get about 6 or 7 litres back in each time before it overflows. So leave the park brake off, if cant take off the rotor then use the screw driver to turn the gear to take off the rotor, after put the new one on, then use the screw driver to turn the gear back on until the wheel cant spin anymore, Am I correct?

    Yep life gets in the way on things you want to do! Lol at this rate you'll be starting a dodgy car yard! I'd go with more content on the Calais. Drop the suspension all round to 2 finger height on the wheel arches. Holden content never goes astray. The spare engines I'd say do them up, get them running & sell them to fund other projects. You can get the big fella to give you a hand. Holden engines are easy to build. The VY wagon, swap the V6 for one that's good. The old block, turn it into a coffee table. The Nissans, well rust is part of them. Do some vids on how to tackle the rust (once you get your welder) & the same with the Landcruiser. The cruisers weak point is rust around the screen so you might need a screen repairer to take out the front screen & get stuck into it. Good to see you back mate, can't wait for the next video.
