    Great amp man ! I do think my VOXAC30 HW 60'th anniversary edition gets close. Build by Marshall, London 2017 and aiming for '64 specs. But yours is the real deal - and sounds like it. Best regards from Denmark Rock on !!

    I would’ve loved to hear the Mesa’s red channel compared to the SLO! That Mesa red channel is known to melt your face off! The Trem-o-verb is like having 16 amps in one unit when toggling between the solid state and the tube rectifier setting and then toggling between the bold/spongy variac switch! Quite possibly the most versatile amp ever made!

    I have a Mesa tremoverb and a Fryette Sig X, both are incredibly versatile and do everything really well. The Fryette can do a more accurate Marshall plexi tone though. I can't seem to get myself to sell either head. They are both amazing amps.

    I love both and think both are amazing but IMO the Mesa Trem-o-verb is way better overall. I have owned them head to head, with and without pedals, and IMO the Mesa Boogie Tremoverb is by far the better amp for cleans, rock and metal!

    That combo of a Celestion and a Jensen ( Ceramic and Alnico) sounds perfect with that style amp. Some-one has been using thier ears and succeeded where others have failed....I may try that , I have an Alnico P12Q and an 8" ceramic Celest and 40w Fender watts ti work with. Thsnks for the inspiration.

    Actually prefer the Mark here. I own the Mark V 25, never had the chance to play a SLO. Not a ton of vids compare Marks Vs SLOs that I can find at least.

    The slo 100 sounded so much fuller and meatier . The syn slo sounded great to , but whew that slo 100 sounds amazing in contrast . I just ordered a slo mod so hoping to get those searing lead tones I’ve been hearing all those slo mod demos on you tube haha .

    The Mark III sounds more compressed and more ultimately brutal and that's even with the EQ not being in its ideal curve. And there's something weird in the treble of the Soldano, but that's probably a compression artifact. In either event, neither of these amps is delivering its best voice at the lower volume levels that this video was recorded at.

    You can use a single GZ34 in place of the two 5U4s in these. Each #1 input uses both triodes of their respective 12a*7 preamp tubes, rather than just 1/2 as in a Deluxe or Bassman. You can’t jumper the channels on these like on a Deluxe or Bassman, but the channels are interactive in the same way. Using a “Y” cord into each #1 as shown uses both triodes of both V1 & V2 giving you double the signal. A very toneful and versatile amp.

    I always was a soldano guy but I prefer the Mesa here. From having the opportunity to play both of these a couple times the soldano just mushes out somewhere in the mids. Give me a marshall though...

    Its funny how many people have these and dont know how they work. You dont need to jump channels input 1 is half yhe preamp tube, input 2 uses both halfs of the preamp tube in parallel. The way we has it jumped in input 1 on both channels is the same as running input 2 on 1 chennel. If you y cable both 2nd inputs you grt 4 tube halfs running in parallel

  • @sorashima
    @sorashima Жыл бұрын

    Way more midrange cut-through on the Soldano (even with the mids control fully off?!) but way more low-mid chunk on the Mesa. Both would have their uses.
