I silently cried when i saw this in theater @ 18 yo. Spock was my hero on S.T. 📺 In retrospect, with all the bells & whistles sci-fi/special fx of this franchise, the greatest scene was about being...human.

People may make fun of Shatner's acting but that's a pretty delicate performance of the struggle between being overcome with emotion and trying to hold it together as a leader.

Kirk’s sad, quiet, disbelieving, numb “No…” was the only moment when Kirk truly felt the sting of defeat, when his best friend died, when he realized Khan had defeated him by hurting him through his best friend’s sacrifice. One of the most poignant moments in all of film history.

Kirk’s (and Spock’s) Kobayashi Maru. “I have been, and always shall be, your friend” still makes me tear up. How did Spock never have to take the Kobayashi Maru if he was command rank? Maybe blue shirts were exempted from it.

It took 3 people to restrain Kirk and stop him from charging in there to save Spock even though he was already doomed. And you could tell he put up a titanic struggle because his uniform was completely disheveled by the time Scotty told him Spock was already dead.

When originally released in theaters, I thought it was the coolest film ever made. I’m a huge fan of Star Trek enjoyed it on the big screen 17 times. The first showing, I arrived early and sat through it 2x

One of the most moving scenes in all the series. Kirk and Spock... Two different species bonding in an ultimate friendship. When I first saw, I cried. Never thought I'd cry for Star Trek. Just goes to show.

Ive watched this so many times...the more i watch it, the more it get me. Those scene are perfection frame by frame, to the second. The beauty mixed with sadness. Every muscle that move on Shatner's face tell a story that i feel in my soul every time. Just when he grab his chair making the link with Bones call and the absence of Spock on the Bridge...he knew at that very moment that his friend was gone.
