  Love this, has a haunting bitter-sweet quality. Laura wrote one of my favourite songs, The Whisky makes you Sweeter. The late British DJ John Peel used to play, amongst all the puink bands he.played then- he recognised true quality.

  Sorry Jimmy, no dice does this awesome slow version bring something new to the song. Maybe you were just too shocked by Glen's version, but it absolutely said the same thing, which is awesome. And, sorry people, but while this is great, and I'm glad that it exists also, and that i was able to hear it. Glen's is far superior, if you have to compare the two. Also, to the lady who said Carole King and Jimmy Webb are two of the greatest songwriters, Amen! And by the way, Carole King's catalog is deep and great.

  And he has come a long way since he wrote it. Here is the version he put down 3 years after he wrote it.
