    Could your decision be based around your heel striking? When you are running faster you will naturally go towards mid foot, but those slower easier paces you may return to heel? Mine arrive today so Looking forward to finding out for myself.

    Hello, what’s the elevation/hills like? I’ll be in the handcycle division. Thank you 😊

  • @FreshBrewRunClub
    @FreshBrewRunClubКүн бұрын

    It’s fairly flat (based on the 2023 course), with the exception of the bridge to Canada (at 2 miles) and tunnel back to the United States (at mile 7). Some elevation maps actually show the bridge as a dip, because it’s going by the riverbed. Otherwise, elevation stays within about a 25 foot difference.

    I actually really like the fact that they leaned into making this shoe a “just for easy run” option. I personally am the kind of guy that will plan for easy paces and push myself regardless when I should just be clocking in some chill miles. Need a shoe like this in my rotation!

    10:33 yeah, that is different... that race never sells out. Any idea what made it so popular this year? In my opinion Detroit is a nice/good race, but it is not spectacular; Detroit's gimmick is the international crossing. I am only doing the 5k and 1M this year. Hoping to do a bike lead for either the full or one of the halfs on Sunday.

  • @FreshBrewRunClub

    These work REALLY well if you’re a mid to fore foot striker at whatever your fast speeds are. Recovery and easy paces not so much, at least for me, but they are a racing shoe after all. The squeaking is normal too, but it can go away like you said. Took them out for a first long run the other day (19 miles) to test them on very tired legs, in the hottt sun, and doing a 5k earlier in the day with other shoes. My average heart rate for all my corresponding paces was anywhere from 3 to 7 bpm’s lower than normal while maintaining a slightly faster speed overall. These help you sustain faster speeds! I can’t wait to taper down for my race and wear them on marathon day with a full fresh set of legs! We’ll see.

  • @FreshBrewRunClub

    I’ve been in the same boat. I’ve never run more than 150 miles in my VF1s and AF2s. I’ll be using the AF2s for my training tempo runs, so I’ll find out just how far they can go. I have seen people get a ton of miles in them, but the outsoles looked absolutely shredded

They have a specific book for the half as well, and it includes multiple levels of difficulty. I really like it for the full and half; I’ve gotten my PRs in both distances using the Hanson’s Method

    There's a 'Ground Hog's Day" dimension to your channel & I'm not sure if that's just part of your shtick as a vlogger, or if it's real. You know when you head out for a run a mainstay is your inevitable encounter with motorist & intersections, you will observe, vent, comment and publish for you audience. Since you intentionally edit these interactions in your videos, I assume it's you being in character of 'get off my lawn' grumpy runner guy annoyed with motorist. Is that what we're seeing...shtick? I'm sure when you go to your local grocery store or wherever, you're recognized...and people say, "you're that runner guy", right?
