I've had supervisors like that before. But also coworkers from, Child Protective Services in Texas. They were so over worked, they had no choice but to bring the work home. It was all done for the children of Texas even though the State itself didn't give a shit about the kids or social workers. 😔

Anything can break, either paid CMS or free CMS. Paid CMS are maintained by the designated people who are getting paid at the end of every month. On the other hand, free CMS are maintained by some normal average guy who doesn't get paid at all. Again it doesn't mean one is bad and the other is good. Open source codes are visible to everyone, so, it's easy to find vulnerabilities for others. But most of the time, open source codebases are way stronger.

Agreed, community contributions are definitely a plus for open source software! And a company that relies on their CMS as a revenue stream has a financial incentive to improve it. Benefits all around for us devs!
