How to maintain your car for the road and prepare it for the track. Think of it as Wheeler Dealers meets Top Gear.

Everything is better with a friend, like AC work. But an engine rebuild is something that I wouldn't want to have to do on my daily. ^ ^
Cheap horrrible chinese inferior weld and steel.,id drop the whole thing in a vat of Lanoguard!
Well done guys, interesting insight into what's required.
Not sure if you mentioned it but the intakes at the front show the condensers and directly behind are the radiators. My condensers leaked and although not great, It forced me to take the bumper off and replace which revealed a lot of crud between condenser and radiator, which would not have been good long term.
Why are you repairing the air conditioning on your 140000 mile BMW well my 1997 Toyota Hilux air conditioning is working fine although l have only owned for five yearsand l am pretty sure ir still has its original compressor and probably the rest of the air conditioning and l have seen reviews on many 1990s and early 2000s Toyotas and the air conditioning works well in is the fact that Toyotas are much better engineered than new BMWs and my Hilux has done 437000 kilometres and is still running fine and much more reliable than any newer BMW
Great to see you both collaborating!
The slowest talking man in all of human history
Your positive messages resonate with me. It's like you know exactly what we need to hear!
One of you has to be wrong your channel says it was easy George’s says it was a total nightmare
I have had an annoying "groaning" noise at 1500 RPM from the AC compressor on my E61 535d for literally years and I think this video will give me the inspiration to finally replace the compressor and condenser/dryer. I've already replaced the AC clutch bearing and all the idler pulleys on the serpentine belt and I replaced the alternator due to charging issues, and the noise only happens when AC is switched on so I'm pretty sure it's the compressor. The noise had gone away until recently when I realised on a hot day that the AC wasn't working. So I topped up the gas with the "AC Pro" system from Halfords and got the AC cold again but the noise came back. Another indication that this is a compressor problem. Really enjoyed the collaboration between you guys and I hope we'll see a bit more of that in future. Thanks both.
Carl froch in the garage WHOOPEE🎉🎉🎉🎉
Surprised he’s not working on Porsches and Subarus.
Neil, the new turbo innards that you fitted to the e61.... did that work out ok with no issues? Mine is leaking with some impeller play so thinking of doing it.
Glad to see some more love for the E61 . What was the error / gong on startup ? Mine is the PDC error lol.
Actually a really nice collaboration , keep it up.
🙌🏻
Without gas pressure the compressor doesn't run it's a safety feature of all modern A/C systems. You could have saved the cost, especially as the current ones appear lower quality than the OE ones.
Did George tell you off for not changing your oil every 5-7k miles? 😂
Nice video! coupon code from Autodoc didnt work though
My dream car. Doubtful I will ever get the chance to afford it. 😢
it,'s a garage its ment to get dirty silly and cold
This is the type of owner i want to buy a car from lol
I'm surprised you didn't put new struts on while you had everything apart. I just did new Bilsteins on my 987. The stock ones were definitely shot. Looked just like yours. I'll bet your strut bumpers are completely disintegrated too. Freshening up my struts and all the associated components including new polyurethane bushings for the front and rear sway bars brought the ride quality back to where it was when I bought the thing. A little pricey, but worth it if you're going to keep the car.
i have an early 2005 boxster, thanks for this video!
Hello, can you help me with my e61 2005 audio. It seems there's a problem with aerial antenna but I'm not sure. The frequency keeps pause the music and if it happened, the controls is disabled also.
The handles are t that bad…stop crying
As far as the head unit goes, if you do not want to swap for the Porsche Classic model, then see if there is a connection through the optional CD changer?
I also restored an 2001 S2000 I bought for $6k a few years ago.
Nice, these little tweaks add up to more than the sum of their parts. There are various headlight clearcoat/lacquers you can buy that would prevent those lights yellowing again, it's hardly any work to get them off the car and sprayed up.
good stuff.. at least the wiper arms came off easy...... plastic headlamp lenses the future.of safety..... until they get old and yellow and the pedestrians cant see you........ on budget Neil... N x
Why would you only clean up half the exhaust tip, I get you probably don’t see it, but if a job’s worth doing, do it right
My exact thought, and I bet he was waiting for this.
This! My OCD went mental
This…I don’t understand
I just went nuts after seeing that, mind blogging
So this is yours now I guess? Really looking forward to seeing the before and after. I'd love to see if a supercharger fits, you know... for science!
The smile, the laugh says everything about the s2000.
Jeez, the rear rebar, was this ever in the sea?
Looking good!
Cheers mate!
at 2:08, there is a wire that is cut....
Fuelling up yer motor , lol its a feckin accountants scientific hobby , oh dear . Well you no longer have go to your .ocal petrol station . Shame my insurance is quite steep going from a ice to a ev .
Very nice
Thanks!
really enjoying this series
Fair play having a good go, body work and paint isn't easy at all.
Thanks mate.
You really need to get yourself a compressor and 2k paint. Very easy to blend and you get super results. Rattle cans just do not have the lasting protection that proper paint and clear coat give.
Remember that silver is one of the most difficult colors to spray paint yourself…
Yeah, I'd say so!
First coat of primer is just to show the imperfections. Then do more filling and more sanding. Then continue with more primer and the other layers after that.
id consider respay the finishing touch rather than a save. in thi s case id consider tht a bodge spray, bloody cans lol
These videos are getting better and better
Big thanks mate
Great job 👏 A blind man on a galloping horse wouldn't pick much up out of that! Seriously not a bad job for rattle cans! Always key your paint before applying any filler! You will never loose the edges & the whole repair will start off way too low....
Thanks 👍
Wow that was a lot of work. Paint work takes a long time to do and it’s very frustrating when it goes wrong but you did a great job for a first attempt.
could have just wrapped it
Thanks so much 😊
In hindsight probably a better idea....
I’d say that’s an impressive first attempt and a great improvement!
Big thanks mate.
Obviously worked hard, but the it appears the bumper is a different shade to the rest of the car, I believe it’s because it’s plastic vs metal vs old / new so notorious to get right if impossible.
