That voice is so different from the deep sultry voice she uses on "Hogan's Heroes."

Gidget Goes Hawaiian(1961) is one of the best sequels ever made. A rich girl on vacation in Hawaii wants Gidget for a friend. She ends up hating her for no good reason. There's a fantasy scene where Gidget imagines life as a "fallen woman". It could have used more "rock & roll music".

Never got her due. By her late 30s/early 40s Joan was doing excellent work that was showcasing her talent. In this film she convincingly plays a depressed person with a problem with booze.
