Welcome to Paisley Heritage! Established in 2012, we are dedicated to promoting and preserving the rich history and culture of Paisley. Originally launched as 'Paisley Mysteries,' our community has grown to over 36,000 members, affectionately known as 'Buddies.' We share photographs, videos, stories, and legends to bring the town's forgotten history to life.
Our discoveries include the concealed Terrace Tavern and the enigmatic Paisley Alien Gargoyle. Our drone captures the essence of historic sites like Paisley Abbey and the Coats building.
With over 400 videos and 4 million views, Paisley Heritage is more than a repository; it’s a narrative that weaves the legacy of our town. We host events at local attractions and our UWS venue, featuring speakers managed by our event manager, Rachael Smith. Our online store, paisleyshop.co.uk, offers prints, cups, T-shirts, books, and jewellery. Revenue supports our events and care home visits.

This narrator sounds like he is about to finish with Nuclear War warning ?
This is awesome!!! 💌
I had an aunt who lived in Barshaw so My sister and I spent many happy days exploring Paisley in the 1950s.
Excellent ❤❤
👍🙂💕
In my era, no pupil could forget the formidable Madge Pope, a Geography teacher and smoker of full-strength Players plain Navy-issued cigarettes!
My Uncle was always on about TaTa Bella. The family lived in Storie St (George St end)across from the Public Baths...
So did I!
Fantastic story but white lettering on a whitish background makes it hard to read, black or red lettering would have made it easier and more interesting to read rather than squinting to make out the words, imo
Great foties Paul , thanks . Grew up in the Sneddon , the Manhattan o' Paisley .
So, THAT'S who Ta Ta Bella was! 😊
A lovely collection of Paisley and some of its inhabitants. I thought I knew Paisley well, I spent a lot of my life there as my aunt lived in Gartmore Road and later I was employed in the renovation of tge PCMS in the 1960s.
Best Now & Then video I’ve ever seen. Thank you.
Another world.
Amazing content. Loved the picture of children going tadpole fishing at Barrshaw Park.
‘Ta Ta Bella wi his face aw yella’
My mother in law used to talk of singing " Ta Ta Bella yer bums awe yella" 😂 That was a brilliant clip, really enjoyed it.
This is the content we are looking for. Absolutely wonderful stuff and would love to see more.
Fantastic 👍
Not one of these trolley cars are releasing exhaust fumes. They got rid of something that was better for the environment.
I also used to sqeeze through the green iron railings and look up the old staircase and wonder what it was like back in the day. Glad someone bought it and restored it.
Im guessing its on the side of the piazza where the cinema used to be. There is a void under the shopping center at the other side which runs along the bank of the river.
epic content! goodbye-😈
I just found out that this house has ties to my great grandfather, Robert Conn who immigrated to America in 1940, his mother was Janet Shaw.
Loved the interior shots...
my mothers town before they left for england
So much bad planning in Glasgow and Paisley in the 70’s. Rest of Europe kept their trams and we got rid of them. To think, after Edinburgh, Paisley has the most Grade A listed buildings in Scotland, what a shame!
Paisley was a smashing wee toon with a real buzz about it, it's a shame what's happened to it.
An ancestor of mine . I visited the modern school in 1979 and made most welcome. Robert John Neilson
Thanks to whoever made this available 👍
It is readily available, although there is no indication in the introduction here giving the details. The film here is taken (with permission, I hope) from the 'Online Video' two-part set, 'Glasgow Tramcars', produced and narrated by the excellent Martin Jenkins.
