I'm almost afraid to jump in here. I know what a pigeon looks like. ...and there you have the extent of my pigeon knowledge. My husband, who is fighting advanced cancer, was given 8 pigeons. Now, along with caring for husband, 14 chickens, 3 pygmy goats, 2 dogs, 5 cats ... I need info on caring for pigeons. Basics. VERY basic. We have 1 male and 7 females ... I think. How do you tell? How often for ACV? Can someone point me to somewhere I can learn? I'm not finding very many helpful YT videos. I'd appreciate the help very much.

Hey guys, recently i was at a live animal fare and found and found a booth full of these massive pigoens called “king pigeons,” the owner didnt now exactly how old they were but knew the were all at least 4 months old. And i only had the funds for one bird and a 1.5 foot long cage. Ive set the bird up with a basic grey blue bare pigeon around the same age. Although the king pigeon seems extremely calm and gentle. Does anyone know if its possible for them to breed or produce fertile eggs?

I hope you will post an update on how the sealant worked. Unfortunately I have a feeling it didn't help as much as you would have hoped. Leaving the plants and muck in the pond and applying the sealer is not a good idea. It prevents the sealant from reaching the bottom of the pond. My suggestion is to drain the pond and have a bulldozer scrape just enough to clean up the bottom. Then fill the pond up as high as it will go and then apply sealant with a boat (and helper). The water pressure will draw the sealant into the leaks and hopefully make a good seal. I wish you great success because I know how frustrating it is to have a leaky pond. Take care.

You are doing such a good job taking care of your birds, and I see this is 2 yrs old (the video) so you have prob already made adjustments, but just in case: you should out down a piece of cardboard or similar inside each cage at least half way on the bottom of the cages. Otherwise your birds feet will become sore and even start to curl from the cage bottoms being wire. They will also, start to perch on the nest cup constantly and then eventually not lay well or tend to the babies well. The card board will keep their feet from being sore and help with their nails not getting too long as we'll. A piece of sand paper now and then will help along with grit and a perching stick . (Most of those cages come with wood perches that are cut fit to size). Pigeons are perching birds and feel better at night roosting on a perch of some kind. Otherwise, you are a caring person, which I see less of over time, best to you and yours🕊
