I have seen this pattern of making service classes in the project that I'm employed in. I am sharing my thoughts. It makes code more readable, compact and you know exactly where to add or change if you need to extend a new service. For a junior like me , it abstracts a lot of complexity and let me get started with simple tasks. Eventually as I get used to the repo/code I will gain the confidence that I can work on even more complex tasks.

Not related but can I get some info on your keyboard? If it's a custom, what board is it and what switches are you using? It sounds great! EDIT: Just saw the custom boards in the background. Nice to see a fellow keyboard enthusiast.

I think when I recorded this one I was using the Nuphy Gem80 with Nuphy Lemon switches. I like the sound of this one too.

Discard is not related to SSDs in this case. It allows trim inside the VM to properly work and give space back to the LVM-Thin pool. Every disk on thin storage should have that enabled. I'd also recommend enabling the Qemu Agent.

Is that the micro as card that came with the raspberry pi? I got mine for home assistant but really can’t get an answer on if I should use that card and erase everything that came on it? I ended up downloading home assistant on an external hdd. So I still have the micro sd with the files it came with along with home assist on the external. I’m just not sure if I should try I don’t know

@@AdamCookeTV connection between app and Luba. Waited for update. Stopping when something in in way then just sitting there. Gets stuck in turns after the weird front wheels dig up my fescue. Mud hole in front of charger from front wheels making 90 degree turn to get in charger. Digs up grass making unnecessary turns on 25 degree slope. Why did the change the front wheels. I think research will find that heavier is not better. Drive your car in your yard then drive a go cart in your yard. Which does the most damage. $3000 is just too expensive for a lawn mower that won’t work 100 percent of the time. An example if you bought the most expensive robot vacuum and you had to go rescue it every fifth time out you would not be happy. I know LiDAR would be difficult wither weather conditions but I think the answer will be more like automatic map drawing and obstacle avoidance dynamic braking lighter mower say 30 pounds better wheel and tire design. Maybe soft tires better weight balance just for a few.

Unfortunately I had to stop watching this very well presented and informative KZread post due to the very loud fill music ... you have to turn down the volume at the spoken content only to have to turn the volume back up again to hear the great dialog. The difference between the dialog and the background is far too great.. Shame ... I'm not deaf.

Just watched your video: - Clicked on like - subscribed - ordered a Home Assistant Green - will get cloud subscription - will debloat my highly disfunctional Google Home and only keep speakers and displays to control some of the HA exposed devices and scenes. Automations will all go into HA instead.

I would like to install actuators and wiring centre to my manifold, can I control each zone separately so that I have different temperature? I have 5 zones but the first 2 zones are in a colder area of the house. I have one thermostat, it's open plan ground floor, 70 sq metres.

Excellent tutorial. I am new to HA and this helped me set it up on a Raspberry Pi 4. I have about 18 shelly units to switch various things in the house and garden but am unable to see them. They are all linked to my TP-Link Deco M5 mesh system. This is connected to a 24 port TP Link switch which is where the Raspberry Pi and modem are connected. I have tried the Shelly integration and tried putting in the ip address for one of the Shelly relays but they fail to connect. Do they need to be connected to the modem wifi rather than the mesh wifi. Be grateful for your help with this..

If you love tinkering HA is for you. Not advocating for any of the technology out there to this date but there are much simpler solutions that don't require you to learn different OSs and command lines and such or have 10 adapters sticking out of a box to work. Most devices now a day work with other home assistants with different protocols and they are a lot easier to setup, of course anything depending on online/offline connections will have hiccups every so often but for the most part they are reliable to a degree. Just my 2 cents and I owe one to Uncle Sam! 😅🤣😂

Excellent video. About to set up HA. When HA detected for example hue devices, can you now go and remove your hue account, or do you keep both hue and HA environments? Could you in theory have disconnected from Hue and then started with their devices? Most of my devices are smartlife/tuya, some wifi some via zigbee hub, wondering if can disconnect everything beforehand.

This looks simple, HA installed ok but on my network I found my smart plugs were not supported and to get them to work looks like it requires some complex configuration at the least.
