Legitimate question: Why the need for the bag? Can't you simply use a pitcher of warm water and pout into the sitz bath tub?

I've seen two videos with this model of bath, but the one I ordered for home use does not have a hole in the front, or a bag to fill with water. There are no instructions with the bath I just received today (April 21, 2023), it is just the basin and a hose with a squeeze bulb on it. Is this for using like a bidet, where you squirt the water as you are sitting in the basin? Also, the sitz bath salts instructions state to soak for 15 to 25 minutes, then rinse with warm water only when done. This seems to defeat the purpose of a home unit for the toilet. How would you rinse with only warm water if the basin has the water / salt mix in it? Now you have to shower when your done?

Does Table salt work as well?

If permitted by your healthcare provider a normal saline solution can be made by mixing 2 tsp of table salt into 4 cups of water.

Why does the nurse need to shorten the drain?
@nursingartsaccparklandcamp98452 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question. The drain is shortened so that the wound area under the skin where the drain is present can slowly start to heal. When little drainage is eventually exiting the wound via the drain the physician will usually order the drain to be removed completely.
