These type of people are looked down upon in the USA. It’s called gentrification. They go into poorer areas and take advantage of the cheap cost of living but raise the price for the locals. It’s usually white people moving into minority communities in cities. For some reason people don’t look down on them when they move to a foreign countries and ruin their economy. The interesting thing is it’s a lot of black Americans who complain about white Americans doing it in their neighborhoods, but with the Passport Bros. Movement and growth in expat communities as seen by YT channels, a lot of these people are now black Americans. And they seem to no longer criticize gentrification when they are doing it.
But is not safe at all I m a Brasilia living in Chicago for 20 + years. I m not going back to live in Sao Paulo or Rio. I won't recommend any one to live In Rio absolutely not. I m originally from Aracaju. I left because the violence there. In Sao Paulo and Rio . Sorry this is my opinion as a Brasilia that was living in Sao Paulo,also Rio

I just did a comparison of the 4 items bought with the UK (I needed to price it up with a bit of extra milk i.e. 4L) and it came to $10 (and 6c). That's after an extra year's worth of inflation from when this video was filmed.

If your income still in Dollars, like when you do home office, it wil be cheap because 1 dolar equals 5 reals today and it most problably not going down anytime soon. Or if you do like them, get your reserves and open a bussiness here, your income will be high too. It´s not easy there is too much burocacy yet, too much state intervention, you have to know what you are doing. You will only find a high cost of living in São Paulo (in comparison to the US in overall) wich is the richest state. But living in SP is to make money, to have a great life it´s rio.

Rio is great and safe. I went o several concerts at Copacabana beach. The Brazilian middle class they fear the poor and the press feed this dreadful class division.

I'm excited to go back to Rio de Janeiro. We have an appointment at the American Consulate in Rio de Janeiro. Hopefully, we will be going home to the USA in June. We have been living in Piauí.

Awesome! What a night! Madonna is one of the last greatest artists of my generation and perhaps of all time. She's always been a trailblazer and innovator. Love her! The young guy in the Prince outfit playing guitar is Madonna's son. Her three daughters also were in the concert (Mercy played the piano.) This concert is for the history books not just for a female artist, but for a stand alone artist. Rio delivered! Thank you!
