Great video, I been looking into magic systems while researching for my own book. This helped me out a lot, and just bought your book as well. Looking forward to getting it and discover the magic system in it and how it is used.

That was fun. Sorry you didn’t find your book😢 Question is though… What did you buy? You have to at least pickup one book in each shop for the journey to be complete🥳

My first visit to Toppings was in St Andrews. I loved it because, not only did they let me take the dogs in, they actively encouraged it. I bought my signed copy of Babel there, amongst others.

Except the final scene I adored "A Dead Cat Tail Assassins". I've read it in one day. Excited for "The Dollmakesrs". Also in August we will have "Blackheart Man" by Nalo Hopkinson exploring cultural traditions and identity.

You read a book?? you see create what the writer dictates within your own mind. If you dont read the book you are led down the garden path of the vision and the cut out bits and changes of the director. Moon fleet was a book I read at school.#made into a film it was great until half way through and it stopped deleted a lot of the text and left out the most impoirtant journey ointo france and culminated in a wreck off Great Yarmuoth. # read your book use yoiur imagination and question the vision of the director and profit seeking film companies.# 2001 space Oddesy and Russian Solaris are fanmtastic renditions of the stories

Also can't wait to get to my ARCs of The Mercy of Gods, The Last Shield and Asunder, I love the premise of both. And excuse me but how had I never heard of Time's Agent before?! That sounds wild in the best way possible!! Hope you have a wonderful birthday month 🤩

Markus Heitz is also a great fantasy author. His books about Tungdil (dwarves) are one of my favorites. I am not sure if he is popular outside of Germany and whether his work is translated properly. Otherwise strong recommendation.

Silverblood Promise was great. Glad to see you recognizing it. The dialogue between Lukan and Flea is engaging. So far this year the first law series cannot be touched. On #2 Before They Are Hanged is looking to be better than the first one.

Having primarily listened to fantasy the best sci-fi book I’ve listened to is lite sci-fi with the tech, but “Tiger Chair” by Max Brooks. Damn it hits hard. For fantasy it’s tough. I’ve listened to some that I enjoyed like “Can’t Spell Treason without Tea” as well as the Legends & Lattes books. Tough to choose between them. And the Forever Fantasy Online series (first two books) were good. The second was an improvement.

Couldn't agree more on Farseer, Warsong, Spindle and Blood Stones! And dammit, I really need to get my priorities straight and read DCC already... Silverblood promise was the disappointment of the year for me. I was so hyped for this book, but in the end it had a lot of flaws that kinda ruined the really good Ideas. It was not a bad book, but just not what I hoped it would be. Lukan is just to stupid sometimes, but does not get punished for it. That felt a bit cheap. Also you could tell that this is a debut, the auther often made some dialogues that were obvious info-dumbs. so basically a lot telling instead of showing. Overall it was ok, I will read book 2 and I'm looking forward to the worldbuilding we will get there.
