It would be down right freaking ugly for one of those lovely ladies to get into horrific crash wearing the clothes that would give them serious road rashes. Wearing just the helmet will not be enough.

That lady going at full pelt on the motorway would have been chased and stopped by British Police. And contrary to what Americans think of our 'soft' Police, would actually have been punished more severely than any American cop would. An American cop might try to chat her up, then let her off and tell her not to do this again. A British traffic police officer, on the other hand would not be afraid to go at speeds in excess of 100mph (usually in a car, but sometimes in a road sports bike), until they had caught up with her and gesticulated to her to pull over. If she failed to, she would eventually either die in a high speed crash with another vehicle, or turned off the motorway. Police in the car would then radio for help - dispatched a helicopter, and had several police cars waiting at specific points with 'stingers' (they slow puncture your tyres). When brought to a halt, she would face multiple charges, including not wearing appropriate clothing for the speed she was going at (yes, this is an offence in the UK), dangerous driving with intent, and she would be breathalised, tested fit drugs. Her motorcycle would then be impounded, and taken away. She would be charged and fined heavily, given points in her licence, and be banned from riding a motorcycle for up to two years. If it's discovered she has no road insurance, and the bike isn't hers (hire bike, or stolen), then she would receive a prison sentence. No letting her off just because she's a woman, and may or may not look cute. This is the difference between Police in the UK, and Police in America. UK traffic police all have to do a high speed driving and/or riding course.
